So what exactly are you implying by saying that?
That I recommend avoidance of home made webcam movies.

I promise we won't do that. I have a high-end mini-DV camera(Canon XL2). It films at 24 frames per second which is what actual movies are shot in. So even though it is digital, it has the film look. And don't worry, our bedrooms will not be the sets.

Well since DV has a contrast ratio of about 45:1 versus 35mm's contrast ratio of about 2000+:1 and DV has a pixel res of 720/768x576 (PAL. NTSC somewhat worse) and 35mm can net you at least 4000x6000 (and super16mm will happily do half that) we can safely say that it does not have the film look.
Not to poo on the project or anything, but recognising the limitations of one's media is important for getting the most out of it. And its a pretty cool camera to have, none the less.
/end ignominious reappearance

Well of course it can't perfectly replicate the look but the XL2 can do the frame rate and shutter speed of of 35mm camera. And it has the ability to actually transfer to 35mm film. Good enough for me, despite not having to pay a fortune to film something. And yes, I know it's limitations I just wanted to portray that I don't have some low end consumer cam.

I love the contrast between the surprise reappearance of a forum oldie and a newbie quoting the entirety of a post directly above his own.

I think that the biggest problem for a Thief film is WHERE.
Does anyone know a place which remembers Thief's setting?

Maybe it would help to check out the successful examples of your genre. Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning would be "the first" one to have done this internationally, and "without" budget.
Wiki is our friend in summarizing the deal; (

If your house is near a cemetery, go ahead and bring the undead army.
