Damn fett...you're waaaaayyyyyy behind if you haven't run across me yet. But it was Loanstar that did the voice for Garrett in the early years
Bah- of course. My mind is going...
Yah- I'm WAAAAYY behind on fan missions. Got a little burnt out during T2X. The only one I've played recently was Ominous Bequest (incredible btw).
I must've missed Maz' post up there earlier. Jesus dude, I thought you were dead. I sent flowers and everything. I don't know what's more bizzare - you showing up or having iggles, Stich, and Piglick posting in the same thread on ThiefGen. Either way my flux capacitor must be fucked up again...

If you guys are willing, I'd like to have you Garret voice impersonators on hand for the project when we need you.

Calm, I like your enthusiasm, but the scale of your project is rather cumbersome, as others have pointed out. I strongly suggest you channel your energies into a (very) short film, perhaps a remake of the famous Bafford mission. Put those award-winning skills of yours to practical use.
Basically, us long-time fans have long endured quickly-vaporizing enthusiasm from New Members, over large projects of all sorts, to the point where sarcasm and derision are the only responses left. This is especially considering that there are some here who have actually proved themselves by providing elaborate fan missions, original artwork, music, and other media, actually contributing to what passes for our community culture, adding massively to the enjoyment of the original Thief games. This would be why Muzman is getting a warmer welcome. Actual results from you, even in the form of still images or scripts, are more likely to incite excitement than vague exertions.
I repeat, a very short film, even a silly proof of concept, is more likely to get back slapping and cheers than big, empty plans. Empty, stalling posts will earn you the jeers that you're going to keep getting.

I completely agree with you. Working in small steps is the way to go. Right now that is exactly what I'm working on is a short, short film to portray to the community that it can be done visually, despite the times and the money. But film shoots take time so I'm making a solid effort to do the film shoot in Jan. I've already got a group. What it will entail is basically a larger version of the intro movies to the games. So it will have some plot to give meaning and reason to the action. It's purpose is also to get people excited to maybe get involved so then the team becomes bigger for something more. Meanwhile I have others who are working on scripts for other ideas, somewhat larger for after this visual short. I will tell you this, don't worry, I'm not full of piss and wind to the point where this idea will die a horrible death. Something will come from this. I'll see what I can do about getting location stills of where the shoot will take place and character stills. Yes, everyone has a right to be cynical about this because so far there's nothing to show, but hey! we're working on it. We're not just making short films just to make them, there is a serious few behind this so far and hopefully more in the future.

I think that the members of the Thief community has to encourage this, and not moan about it. If possible also give some help, but important is that you support it.
