This was a very interesting mission, and I loved the premise. It's a shame it wasn't fleshed out a little more, e.g. during the key-hunt, seeing brief flashes of the king and queen eating at the dining table, or the baby crying in the royal bedroom. Still an awesome atmosphere though, just a bit lonely.
And yes, I admit that the Philip Glass piece was a better choice. HOWEVER, I personally would have scripted a change of background music to Cardia after picking up the sword. Then it would work. :D

Yes, that would have been better! :thumb:

Eh. I'm going to pass on finishing this one as well. :( Sorry to the author, but I have to agree with others on this that the need to run around and kill everything is just. . .not my thing. One thing I have always loved about Thief is the fact that you *don't* have to kill anything if you don't want to and while you can 'remove' them from your way with blackjack, they can - in a logical sense, get up and go about their lives later. While I can handle the odd FM that demands you go in and assassinate a certain person, this particular FM does not offer you the alternative to quietly remove everyone except your 'target', nor does it offer much in the way of hiding in the shadows, and sneaking around. It starts to fall back to the first person shooters that I never got into.
On the other hand, the mission's beautifully built. The castle actually has a castle feel to it, instead of a small mansiony type house and while the place had a rather large amount of space without a lot to keep you in any one spot for very long, it was all very nice to look at. I would like to see more of this, perhaps with a stronger story and more actual Thiefyness to it.
Sorry again, to the author. I am not trying to be discouraging. If you were after something 'different' as far as Thief gameplay, then you certainly accomplished that with gusto. :) Just, not in a direction I can enjoy. I definitely prefer the less violent, more sneaky thief who'd rather run away from a fight than stay and cause an unproffessional 'mess'. :)
Good luck with this, though!

i´m glad you liked my architecture, architecture and music is the most important thing for me in a fm, course a good gameplay count as well, don´t worry i will make future missions kind of thief, but my next mission will be a giant arena, only for fight:cheeky:

Fun mission. I like when FM authors try a new concept ... and it WORKS. I locked about 7 assassins in the armory right at the start (have them chase you in then toss a flashbomb while you make your escape) and then tossed a couple of mines under the door. Boom. Seven guards out of the way right there.
This is the first FM I believe I have ever played where the custom music was enjoyable rather than annoying. A perfect choice cardia1! I'm playing this one again tonight. I have some ideas ...

if you liked that fm then i´m sure you´ll love my new sequence missions, there will be 5 parts, "i can win", "bring it on", "hurt me plenty", "hardcore" and "Nightmare" all these fms will be huge arenas kind of quake 3:ebil: ,with new ambient sounds, and in the intermission of all these fms will make short fms kinda "broken heart" or a tipical thief fm, i´m glad to know that you are also of my opinion where all authors should add a new custom music, it gives more pleasure to the game:thumb:

Gloria the best way to defeat an enemy is to run in circles around his back and slashing him on the back with the sword, with pratice you can defeat them with closed eyes:cool:
