I´m replaying the missions now and reached the Necropolis again. This time the sounds are working OK, except in Lunar Court, where sounds of footsteps disappear.
And the trap is there both on hard and expert.

I also have a question:
Before you enter the hypostyle from palace/baths direction, you can see one of those critters up on the left on a ledge. Obviously there is something there, but how to get up?

You can mantle the pyramid light nearby.

In that 1st corridor / tunnel didn't you have
something from the roof try to crush you flat? Then you're "lucky" & it 's maybe a bug (though I haven't heard of anyone else finding that). That's supposed to be a trap, gotton around by pushing a button in the roof just before you reach it - the button's not in a light fitting per se but does have some light emanating around itAlso finished with some spare
star gems - maybe Garrett can sell these? :)
The boulder at the end is not the trap - I hadn't found the secrets in the Necropolis &, because of that I couldn't see any way back in to search for them.
Was there another way back?
I generally play on normal on first runs, so that's why there was no trap for me. Normal challenges me enough these days on most games. I seem to have lost some gaming ability over the last few years.
I couldn't find another way back in, and for the life of me, I can't remember how I got out either, so I can't backtrack.

Thank you all for playing the mission! I'd have hoped for less technical issues, but the older Thief gets the fiddlier it is to run properly, I suppose.
Thank you for such a superb FM. I usually find FMs very frustrating cause of poor maps, incredibly vague clues/puzzles and sometimes broken missions due to poor testing, but Broken Triad was OM quality start to finish. I played OB first and enjoyed it every bit as much.
Don't worry about the minor technical issues. Judging from the responses here, I'd say we can all live with them.
Great job on both. Do you work in the gaming industry? I wish more developers would put so much heart into their games.
I'm hoping someone writes a detailed walkthrough for both FMs soon, so I can go back and check out all the neat stuff I missed.

So, do all the red scarabs have some kind of meaning? It doesn't seem like they do, but I just want to make sure.
Eshaktaar on 6/6/2008 at 18:33
The scarabs who are patrolling around don't have a specific purpose, and the two at the Emperor's throne are just "mourning" his death.

I had to laugh at the fact that after their beloved Emperor is assassinated, the population just leaves his body there to rot for several decades (or more). :laff:

They were quite busy fending off the Dark Watch and all the undead pouring out of the Necropolis. ;)

just a question about those purple tanned dudes with the ritual daggers...
Are they the result of drinking the liquid described in the museum in mission 1? That their skin turned hard and dark in color or something like that? If so, what abut the mages? What gives them the blue color...or is this a girl thing?

Has anyone noticed that you can kill Dark Watch quards with flash bombs? Two bombs is enough.
