It's ok I re-installed theif2 and it fixed the problem, it must have been the cleanup of files issue.

I say thank God for the walkthroughs with this FM, but I'm really luv'n it so far though :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Now, as for the walkthrough. I realized it's in expert mode, but I always like to start with easy version 1st & work myself up...
The walkthrough (in expert mode) has shown me where everything is even in easy mode...up till now. I'm in the throne room & there is no candle or ring that I can find. Can anyone help? Now if they're not there & nothing else for that matter what's the point in getting there in the 1st place? :confused:

I've just checked - they are both there on all difficulties. Perhaps you are not in the Throne Rome?
PS This is the thread for Mission 1.

First let me say to Eshaktaar and any others involved in creating this FM...TAFFING BRILLIANT! :thumb: Thank you for creating such a fine work.
Now to my problem: I push the button to get the two jackals talking to each other and get the cutscene of the doors opening. Then nothing happens. I have been watching the open doors now for ten minutes. Can't get out of the cutscene. Tried restarting, rebooting and restarting...no luck. Any suggestions?

Oh my, we never encountered anything like that in testing. Sounds like a script is failing to end the cutscene. Sorry, I have no suggestions as to what to do besides email the save to someone, ask them to just wait for the cutscene to end, save and email it back to you.

Thanks for the reply Yandros. Yes, this is weird. Never been stuck in a cutscene before though I have the same problem with one of the camvator scenes in The Seventh Crystal (meeting Sariphina on the bridge).
Your solution is a good one (though I'd like to find out why this is happening).
Anyone out there reading this willing to receive a saved game from me and send it back after the cutscene is over? Ditto for Seventh Crystal.

You can send it to me (my email address is in my profile). Are you playing on Vista by any chance? I noticed that many players who are experiencing trouble have Vista, as it apparently can cause trouble with certain custom scripts. I have Vista myself, and during the testing phase I didn't encounter these problems, though.

Yes I am playing on a vista machine. UPDATE: I am no longer stuck. Don't know why but after several reboots and restarts it is working again. I haven't done anything differently other than reboot three or four times. I don't know if this really had anything to do with it but just in case, anyone else having this problem should probably try it.

In second mission after I opened room with 3 coffins and 2 of them started to move like dead bodies there would escape and saved game I cannot load anymore. I used my old save and again loads saved after I visited that room crashes Thief. Any ideas?

I totally agree !!! well done Eshaktaar, and so many others too.
At this rate, we'll still be playing these super FMs in 10 more years ...and I won't mind a bit!:D
