The reception of console versions by BiA fans have been mixed (as has the critical reception, but gaming critics are usually tools anyway. IGN, enough said.).
* It's apparently quite easy compared to the older games. You have regenerating health.
* Gears of War-esque cover system, where you're locked into third person view (no popping out and aiming in first person, like in R6 Vegas). Being locked into 3rd person poses problems on Authentic difficulty mode, since there's no crosshair (there is one on the lower difficulties).
* GoW-esque precision grenade throwing (essentially you can control where the grenade lands).
* The cutscenes are no longer exclusively from a 1st person perspective. (I have no problems with this, as the game is closer to the intended cinematic experience this way.)
* AI of questionable intelligence.
* The appropriateness of employing slo-mo effects.
* Multiplayer is disappointing. Gearbox out-sourced it to Rockstar New England (aka the guys that killed the Empire Earth series).
Regardless of the reception, I'm not going to cancel my pre-order for the PC collector's edition. I like making up my own mind on games.

Sounds like you already made up your mind to like it, buy collector's ed and all.
Brothers in Arms's biggest problem is the imprecision of the command a.i. I just love it when I'm very precise about their placements and one guy decides to not be behind cover at all. It also tries the hardest out of all the war games to be dramatic when I just don't care for the soldiers. People in BiA are a gameplay tool to me, and when they die due to stupid behaviors it gets annoy, not sad.
Bottom line is BiA is no Band of Brothers. If they can fix those immersion problems, write better characters, and diversify the combat a little, then it'll achieve greatness.

Stop acting like such a prick. It was the same price as the standard edition, so why shouldn't I purchase that instead? Plus there's a such a thing as a 2nd hand market.
I'll be giving Fallout 3 a chance and judging it on its own merits, unlike you.

That was actually a sincere post. You're the one who felt the need to mention CE, sounding like you're proud of it anyhow. And how the hell would I know what it costs?
And you think it's you pulling your own strings on Fallout3? Why do you suddenly feel the need to "judge the merits" of a heavily marketed title? Don't answer me.

Wow, Eva, fucking relax. He had a very stable/sincere post (unlike your reply).
Is there something in the goddamn water 'round these parts? This week is nuts
On topic, the game in 3rd person, and regen health kills it for me. And to think, I just bought Earned in Blood for my Xbox a few months ago, and was really looking forward to an improved sequel.
