Has everyone seen this mod? It looks pretty nice. I especially like the sprite work and the artistic touches, e.g. toarched demon bodies on the ground and blood spraying out of "pinkies" like fountains. Also, light sources are breakable. Not sure if this applies to flats, but I seriously doubt it. (

If this were 15 years ago I probably would've thought it was stupidly juvenile and completely unnecessary then too.
(p.s. it's "torched")

Just tried it, satisfaction!

If the contemporary CliffyB had been lead designer on Doom, I'd imagine it would've turned out something like this mod. MORE LIKE TEN SHITLOADS

It is cool for those of us who have played DooM countless times to have new animations for the onsters. It helps things feel fresh again.

Not really.

Ahh come on dethtoll, you've at least gotta appreciate the nice meaty sound effects! *splaaaat*

No, because I find such things pointless and childish. Kinda like Bulletstorm actually.
I mean, seriously, what's the point of this, besides making Doom look like what parents groups think it looks like?
And keep in mind I've been playing Doom since '94.

It's much more than a gore mod if that's what anyone is thinking, it really freshens up the game play and injects more fun into a old game I am very familiar with. It would be worth a play even without the extra violence it adds.

Seconded, speaking as someone who's been playing Doom 2 yearly since its release (mostly TCs and good level packs since). Whilst unlike deth I think it looks pretty good, I don't see the point of it.
I'll happily download a new TC/Conversion/good level pack, but a mod to change how the main game itself plays? No thanks. If its bundled with one of the above things, then hell sure I'll give it a go, but otherwise I'm happy with Doom2 as is in source ported up quality which is good enough for me.
