I returned Pinky to Mrs. Dowson, she thanked me and made a hand gesture as if giving me something, but I didn't get anything :( No reward at all.
I reloaded and tried many times but never got the reward.
Is this a known bug? Any workarounds for this?

yes I think it was a common occurence.....the singer and Mrs Dowson/Pinky quests sometimes failed.....I found a reply in the original thread about it...
(no....same thing with night 2...cured all 9 no relevant objectives ticked and I was exploited by both the singer and Pinkys owner...helped them they did the ''take this'' gesture but no money or jewels as reward... Our late Lady R. wrote somewhere on thread for night 2 about 2 .osms necessary. Seems to be missing the witch.osm . And the amount of loot I am missing to reach the 6009 is approximately those two rewards ...I will also force end night 2 as it seems.. version2 btw)

Interesting. I see those .osms in the 7sisters folder (v2 as well) though.
I guess the script has a small chance of failing, or maybe something else breaks it.

omg let me tell you, its my fav mini quest in that mission she is suppose to give you this amazing "red velvet coin purse", also in her room is a ring you can grab if you quick to keep her door open when she goes to see the little burrick

Yeah, I stole her ring but unfortunately the reward for returning Pinky was bugged in my playthrough. Same with the reward from the musician.
Speaking of which, releasing the musician when the rewards are broken also removes the check from the 4500 loot objective, making it impossible to finish the mission. So, I just had to leave him in jail :cheeky:
@JonesCrusher: The above information may be helpful in case you have an earlier save, so that you don't need to force end Night Two.

Well, for me, Pinky doesn't even escape, it just stood there.
