For my first FM, I'm thinking in subtractive terms. I'm trying to build a small village within a 500d X 500w X 200h airbrush. When I build the room database for the airbrush, DromEd's Mono box gives me "No AI pathfinding database" and "WARNING: new room db required AI rooms to be reset." When I tried building an AI pathfinding database, I still got the warning. Any suggestions?

I get that often and ignore it. I think it's just telling you that the AI Room Database had to be recalculated because you rebuilt rooms and/or Pathfinding.

After building the room database and going in-game (Alt+G), there is no sound. I can hear menu sound, but not in the room I built.

This warning message should be unrelated to that. Is there sound anywhere else in your mission? Have you verified that the bottom of the roombrush is below the solid floor of the room?

Yes, using Komag's instructions, I extended the roombrush beyond the solid floor. The roombrush is larger than the airbrush in all three windows (top, left, and right).

You need to build the pathfinding database too. If you installed using Tafferpatcher, it's Tools > Build Pathfinding.

Well, I still have no sound in-game if I do build the pathfinding database. The Komag tutorial I'm using (KomagTutvT2.pdf) calls for building a room database before it approaches building a pathfinding database.

Building PF will automatically build rooms afterwards anyway, it's no big deal. Another possible cause of this problem is that the texture you're using for the floor isn't assigned in the texture hierarchy, so it has no sound. Is it a standard texture or a custom one you've added?

Actually, I haven't even got to textures, it is still Jorge. I might have to collapse this thread because I just remembered that rooms can't be over a certain size. I was trying to enable sound for the environmental airbrush, but I really need to worry about rooms within it. It really has been a long time since I tried making a level in DromEd. Thanks for your help.

Oh, well that explains it. Jorge makes no sound. Now if you give yourself a sword and swing it, you should still hear Garrett's effort grunts and what not.
