I don't know of any real reason to carry it unless I'm playing low tech ninja-style.
But I agree that hacking people to death does have a certain appeal.
If you drop the sword, do you still have "evidence" to stop the gang war, etc? That would be kinda a major bug...
And as for inventory spaces, I definitely don't think that it is neccesarily proportinate to space, otherwise things like hazmat suits and armor should take up a little more space while the dragon tooth sword should take up much less.

Torpor, you don't need to take the sword to the Red Arrow leader. Apparently, he just takes your word for it that it was there.
For a gangster boss he seems pretty gullible.

Ahem.
The Dragon's Tooth is an amazing weapon. On Master, it does 150 damage. 150! That does more damage than anything else in the game except the GEP Gun, the LAW and the Plasma Gun (on Master, and then only by 7 points) That's also enough to kill anything in the game in one hit except Karkians (adults) and bots. I had it Mastered with Ballistic Protection on level 4 and I was nigh unstoppable :) You can also take out doors, alarms, cameras, turrets, etc with it if you have the Combat Strength aug on. (not sure which level though I know level 2 will suffice)
It is easily the best low tech weapon you can get and I'll be using it even on Untrained. I'll also be very happy if I find it can smash turrets on Untrained with the aug on :)

D'JK, you forgot to mention that it also makes a nifty flashlight. :D

It's great for accidentaly running into baddies around the corner. Just jump in front of them and whack away!

As I understand it, the sword is a "normal" steel sword that has nanites that constantly run over its surface, constantly cleaning and sharpening it. The whole lightsaber effect is just a graphical flourish that is at odds with how the weapon is described in the game.
That said, it's a pretty cool flourish :)

But when those MiBs start strafing around you, then explode when they die, Dragon's Tooth is slightly less apppealing (this is made worse when playing on a laptop).

Hmm, with speed on, it's easy enough to run in, hit them (one hit kill, of course :)) and run out again before they explode. Another thing you can do is swing for their legs. I found this made them drop their weapon and run off, leaving you able to shoot them at your leisure :)

All those MiBs, and Will Smith nowhere in sight.
