Bunch of old games... - by Henri The Hammer

Shadowcat: I seem to recall reading that the game was multiplayer-oriented, will I be missing most of the game?
Heretic: Would that file in question have anything to do with a certain attempt to appease the ESRB?

That would be the one, yes.
There are also various mods and patches that change blood back to red and optimize maps and graphics for modern hardware. I have them all in zip-format if you or anyone else is interested but can't find them elsewhere.

I've never played multiplayer Giants.
I'm told that it's great fun, mind, but multiplayer has nothing whatsoever to do with this being one of my all-time favourite games :)

Not to mention it (Giants) still looks gorgeous.
Just remember to delete that pesky
arpfix.gzp file.
On that note, make sure that you set the character models to the highest settings.
Another +1 for Giants. One of all time favourite games and one that gets better and better throughout the entire game.

Damn it, I'd love to walk into a store and walk out with games like those. Unfortunately, I don't know of a local store anywhere in the States that stocks old PC games like that; if I want to get such games, it's usually off to eBay and the high prices that come with it.
In particular, I want Albion out of that set. Maybe Betrayal at Krondor as well so that I can experience it first-hand and find out why everyone's raving about it. I'd also be interested in Giants and Sacrifice, but they're on GOG.com (and I already bought the former from that site; I'm considering the latter).
Also, seeing those old LucasArts adventures makes me wonder-have they ever released a huge compilation full of SCUMM goodness? There's too many point-and-clicks I haven't played yet-in addition to most of the SCUMM games, there's Grim Fandango and possibly a few others to look into.

They released a 'LucasArts Classic Adventures' collection and then later on several 'LucasArts Archive' big-box sets, of which I have two, but that was years ago. No complete collection to my knowledge though.

I still have my copy of the game lying around somewhere but I think I tossed my box :(

Sam & Max and Day of Tentacle, all you need to get now is Full Throttle and then you can give 'em to me :p

I might still be interested if you have the printed manual.

I've got some nearly 100 games going back to W3.1 (and a computer to run them). I even have a few that run in Basic. :)
My best deal was about 4 years ago when I bought thirty (30) brand new copies of Thief Gold.
I passed these on to EIDOS and other taffers all over the world.
I still have a couple for backup, but they were OOP at the time and the community was searching madly. If I had kept them I could retire, but I passed them on for my cost, plus postage.
And I'm not one bit unhappy about that.
