This has to be one of the best fan missions I've ever played. I really am quite astonished by it. Well done!

Where's the sewer key?
I've tried all sorts of things to get through the door. I've tried to... I used 14 fire barrels, 2 mines, and 2 explosive charges on it... at once....

Damn, across the freakin block would be "a little close" for all of THAT!!!

The picture in w_hairst's post from April 25, 2003, is hilarious. If it ever gets lost and just the text from this thread remains: It is a screenshot of Garrett about to shoot a fire arrow at a giant pile of 11 red explosive barrels with a Sunburst Device crammed into the middle, all stacked up to the ceiling in front of a metal door in a narrow corridor. It is even better if you played the mission and you know the room with the explosive barrels is quite far away from this corridor. It must have been a huge effort for w_hairst to drag all those barrels to that location. The kicker is: The door cannot be opened with explosives and the key is nearby. :laff:
I finished the Thief Gold version of Burglary in Blackbrook today on Sneak in 47 minutes with all of the loot. Usually I just get enough to meet the loot goal, but in this mission it was easy to find everything - even some hidden loot.
Likes:
* Good story. Hammerites rebuilding their sanctuary with gold looted from a crypt beneath their sanctuary causes the dead to rise back up. Journals are written well, with just a few typos.
* The description of the loot objective is different on each difficulty level, giving different reasons why you should get 500, 1000 or 1500. I liked that. Usually just the loot value changes.
* There are some new sounds that add to the atmosphere of the Hammerite sanctuary.
Dislikes:
* The mission is a bit too easy. I played on the easiest difficulty level. Nevertheless, without really trying, I would have ticked off the objectives of the hardest difficulty level as well: I got way more than 1500 in loot and found the Silver Chisel, the Golden Horn and Dangerous Dave.
* There is almost no verticality to the mission. I felt a bit more climbing sections would have made exploration more interesting. There was a chance to include this in the crypts, but it is just more flat surfaces and stairs.
* In the backstory, Brenner calls Garrett "silly". Later in the conversation, Garrett laughs at something Brenner said. Both interactions feel out of place for the character of Garrett as portrayed in The Dark Project.
* "ShadowMasters" sounds like a gaming clan, not like a thieves guild.
Bugs:
* Some sound propagation issues near doors.
* Enemies can walk right through the standard crypt objects. There are two above ground in a small garden area, near the double doors to the crypt. I have seen this happen in other missions as well. I think it is a problem with the object itself.
* I noticed one instance of a blue surface where a texture should have been displayed in the prison area, near one of the guard posts with a Hammerite and an archer inside.

I thought I was doing well at finding loot until end of mission stats. Lots of places to explore, cool catacombs, much fun!
