IIRC there is a book hidden-switch used in an OM with one of these textures on a brush. The alignment of the book switch with a book on the texture behind it is significant. Did you check that the replacement texture has the same size shape book as the original texture where that switch goes? Unfortunately it has been too many years since I last played that mission to remember exactly which mission it was and where in the mission it is, so I can't be of much help in finding it.

There are several hidden book switches in OMs. Maybe the book switch could be retextured (and remodeled) to support C-BEAM's replacement textures.

I'm not so much concerned about the model or the texture, but the location of the switch. Replacing this texture with one that doesn't match the pattern of books exactly means that the switch has to be moved to correspond. Thet's not something that can be part of an EP project.

Perhaps the EP could contain some .dml files to change the book-levers' position properties.

yes, that would indeed solve the problem. also, making a hires version of pbook.gif texture would be a good idea. the updated T2 demo has one - admittedly, not very professional, but it does the job (of making the book not stand out like a sore thumb when the bookcase texture is updated). let me drop it here (not sure how well will it fit with the new bookcase though, it has been made for a different hires texture, but no harm in sharing);

Also books01 and books02a in obj/txt folder are the half left sides of books01a and books02a rescore textures respectively. (Thief1/Gold)
