changed my alchemy book....hope it was the right thing to do
:nono:
You'll find the warden's key later - don't worry! That will lead you on a path that will gain you the key to the door on the very top floor. Is the gold key the one from the belt on the haunt in the locker room? If not, you need that :) Do everything you can with that one key, clear out everything you can at the prison at this time, then move on to the next area that's accessible through the hole in the wall on one of the upper floors. Hang in there :)
Cheers!

Great mission! It reminds me "The Apocalypse Prison" mission from some older contest.
It is so dark! I barely see something in the shadows! My monitor is set to maximum brightness and contrast, Thief to maximum gamma and I must play at night to see ANYTHING. A big defect! My monitor is old and burned out, but I have no problem playing most of the FanMissions. The biggest problem for me is to find a ladder in darkness...
Anyway, it is GREAT Mission and I'm going to finish it... I hope there will be updated version...
I've found some nice bug :D
Sometimes it is possible to use weapons while hanging on the ladder.
This way I've disposed of four angry Haunts with my sword :thumb: loosing no single HP

have killed all haunts and lifted and scooted and looked and peered BUT NO KEY! anywhere. there is a place where i can drop down into water and there is a haunt down there...he is still alive, but he does not have a key either....could it be a bug?
though this seems like a really good fm....i just can't get anywhere and think i am going to have to call it quits....i have spent over an hour in such a little area....:p and i am kinda burned out

nil8hate -
There's a blue key that unlocks the upper door in the Prison. It moves around on different difficulty settings. On Expert, the haunt standing at the far end of the locker room is wearing it. On Hard and Normal, it's inside one of the lockers, lying beside a purse.
will go to look...i am not sure what level i am playing on...i usually go for expert...and so if that is the case i got no key.....
and i was in those lockers
....got the purse....but i am on my way to see if i missed something
here i go again!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)
back from searching...playing on expert
two dead haunts in locker room, no key....one dead guard that was already in the locker room...no key...six empty lockers, no key.....one locker with unfrobbable painting in it...no key....one locker with sword in it....no key....one haunt that looks like a guard that is still standing in his little area and no key
yikes...wonder if i should start over....i really think this is pretty good after being disappointed by a few others....ah, gloom and how come i dont get no new boots?:nono:
hi...giving this a bump so that someone might give me some advice to my dilemma. i hate to quit an fm i like to start another one :(

I wish I could help but I don't know what else to tell you. You must be playing on Expert
because that's the only difficulty setting that haunts appear on.
I've sent you a couple of screenshots, though I don't know if they'll be any help or not. You might consider starting over, even from a save before you went into the Locker room so you can have another stab at finding the key.

I didn't read the thread (because I want no spoilers) so maybe the question has already been answered:
I played this mission only for a short time - I made it to the room with the smelter and the portrait of Karras - and then installed and played The Haunting. Now I went back to The Saint and my old savegame doesn't work anymore. I saved inside the smelter room and now when I frob the door Thief crashes and exits to the desktop. I know it worked before. In Dromed I get an error saying "Index out of range". Is there anything I can do? Maybe The Haunting left some bad files behind (although Darkloader has been very reliable in the past)?

I am having a TERRIBLE time seeing underwater no matter now I adjust the gamma.
Once you put the head back on the statute underwater are you supposed to go somewhere under the water? If so, which direction? I seem to be going somewhere but can't tell for sure.
Nightwalker on 14/4/2004 at 00:07
I had the exact same problem, joanie, and I just above gave up on the mission at that point.
Once you've put the head on the statue a new "breathing hole" opens up in the passageways and you can climb out into a different room. Find the hole in the floor that's in the room right after you enter this set of buildings. Swim from it, hugging the left wall. You should end up at the right place to climb out.
Bumbleson, I have no idea how to help with that one. Have you tried restarting the mission or just playing from your save game? Maybe it's just the save that's bad?
