I am still having trouble starting this mission, and don't have my equipment. I climbed the stairs and headed left to where the arrow was pointing, and searched that whole book case on both sides of the statue there but I can't find a throbbable book. Can anyone point me to the exact location. Is it left or right of the statue located at the top of the bookcase the arrow is pointing at, low or high. I am going crazy here. :cheeky: I have those gailer script that you need to download, is there something else that could be technical that I need?

@Auriga2us:
the -purple- arrow is pointing at it - so opposite of where that green is pointing... it's a -big- frobbable section of the bookcase - it depends what difficulty you're playing on also - on easy - it's right at the top of the ladder & on expert, it's 2 statues to the right of the ladder - to the right of the statue with a shield
@ethne:
are you still in the same place as before?
a lot in this one depends on difficulty that it's being played on too.
not sure where you want to go - you don't want to go back by the library?

So I'm even more stuck, playing on Expert :)
How did you open that grate, Diana? I just float there and desparately frob the pillar below with everything in my inventory, to no avail. Then I drown. :p
I don't have the stone or the jewels yet - I couldn't get through the labyrinth (just kept running in circles) so decided to try for the underwater passages to see if anything opens up.
I'm enjoying this mission quite a bit, although I dislike the teleporter approach. I know the author said it was for space, but the other FM's managed to do quite well with the limitations without resorting to teleportation :)
Cheers!

Sorry Melissa. I got side-tracked.
You can't open the grate from the water side.
You have to go down the tube.

You get to the tube by going up a ladder in the same room you went down into the water in. From that room find another ladder going up.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, diana50322 - I'm back on track... well, sort of :)
Swiveled the gargoyle, opened the grate, found the statue head and attached it, swam to the new area, killed the haunt and laid the zombie low - yay, me. Climbed the ladder to the room with the medallion and the "statue" (sure... I know what THAT is!).
Sure enough, take the medallion and the statue gets mighty angry and the only exit sealed. Any hints on how to get out of there with the medallion? I don't think anyone else has had gotten stuck, so I know I'm missing something obvious :D
EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out :erm: If anyone else needs a hint:
Those pyramid thingies sure look breakable...

... smash, THEN loot!
Cheers!

at first i thought that sound one had to do with the horn of quintus and was wondering why i couldn't frob it :p
well, finally got that part & have the temple jewels... but now...
i must be missing some clue(s) or something - i have no idea how to get up where there's someone walking around - past those 2 haunts (one with the horn of quintus).
i just completed 3 "saintly" things and went through the gate & now i can't even go back in the jail area to finish getting the stone (which i couldn't find the warden earlier to find his key)
any hints appreciated :)
Hi raetsel,
Could you give me a hint on how to get through the labyrinth? I'm playing on Expert and am just going literally in circles. I've tried holding out the various objects in my inventory to see if it makes safe passage through the blue areas with no results. I've already been up to the top floor of the temple with the blue spitty things :)
Thanks!

I've just encountered a very aggravating bug on Expert :weird:
I've taken care of the area by the temple with all the haunts, got the key from the warden, and in the process, blackjacked the bad guy, G. Went on trying to crack the temple puzzles (returned all the books, opened up the jail, put the letters in the warden's tray, got in the vault, moved the ladder, just stuck on the jewels and the labyrinth). Decided to go and put the Orion stone in the library. Went there, frobbed the pile of dirt with the Orion stone, automatically hit ALT+S to autosave, and turned to leave as the Objective ticked off.
Then the skull and crossbones appear and a new objective shows up to kill G. with a circle/slash through it, followed by an X through the no kill objective.
Argh! The only other save I have is in the room with the stone monster and the medallion, way way back. Has anyone else encountered this bug? I didn't kill G. - I only knocked him out! And why wait to tell me until I stash the Orion stone?
I think I'm moving on to the next mission. I may try this again once I've gotten over feeling miffed :p

@Melissa:
the labyrinth with the blue & red spots?
you just avoid all of the colored areas - there's no inventory item to get you past the blue, it just always kills you & going through red from the front blocks you
i didn't have the problem you did with the no-kill & i knocked him out too (but did run into a couple other bugs that weren't always consistent either - so yeah - maybe give it a break and go back - that's what i did too :))

Oh no... I have a really bad feeling about this...
Way back when I first encountered the labyrinth, I started through it. At the first red turn, I saw gold nuggets on the other side and was able to lean forward enough to frob them. When you negotiate through the labyrinth you wind up where the two window slits are, and facing that same red hall from the other side.
You see, I just wind up there in the middle and there's nothing to do, no where to go, nothing to frob. If I go back out and take the blue crystal underneath the two torches, the killer wall shoots forward as the objective ticks off.
Do you think this is another bug? If it is, I'm not starting over, I'm afraid! Eek! ::crossing fingers that I'm just missing something::
EDIT:
Well, since I seemed to have broke the mission, I hacked my way to the temple jewels:
I put the gold hammer down in front of the niche with the killer spiked door, grabbed the jewel, meandered over to the side of the now stuck door, and picked up the gold hammer, allowing it to ram against the far wall with me safe on the other side. Heh. I saved just before, just in case scooping the gold nuggets up from the wrong side didn't break the mission and I just missed something.
So, since I can't finish it, will someone please satisfy my curiosity about:
(1) The door 3/4 up the ladder that leads to the room with the four coffins and the frobbable switch that opens up the trapdoor that leads to where G. was - how does it open? I hear two hammers in there, but there's no way that I can find to get in.
(2) The door just outside the hole in the prison wall with a talisman on either side - same question. How/when does it open?
I still enjoyed the mission quite a bit - it's just too fraught with bugs for me. Perhaps after the contest is over the author can fix these things ::hopeful look::
Cheers!

[Anyone]
After burying the stone in the library, I received a new objective to kill Gothus. But when I got back up there, I discovered the point was moot. I picked a note from an AI and got yet another new objective: to go to "the vault" and steal the "most expensive" item in there.
So I returned to the vault where I found the gem, but it was still empty.
Is there another vault, say somewhere on the "other side" of the water maze? How do I get there?
Thanks,
Dafydd
