So I've gotten as far as I can get myself in Arkhyn's Tomb. Got all the loot I could find, and now its time for the rest of the mission. But hmmm, maybe I'm destined to live with Arkhyn forever. WHERE'S THE EXIT? I tried going back to the entrance I came in, but the big boulder is blocking it again. Searched that room for levers and whatnot to move it. Nothing. And so now I'm hopelessly searching. Please help. And oh yeah, one last thing, after I got all the loot around Arkhyn's skull and left the room, if I return to the room the game crashes back to darkloader. Any idea what that is?
any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what would be causing the crash, but you can still get out. In the hallway with the pressure plate at the end that causes fire arrows to shoot at you, there's another pressure plate back up the hall a little way. Take a block or something and weigh it down. The boulder will move aside and you can go out the way you came in. :)

Thanks Nightwalker, I never thought of that. But I just used what might be a clipping issue to get out. I used the same method as I did to get in. If you shoot a fire arrow at the top left corner of the boulder, it lights the torch again, and the boulder moves. :thumb: But I'll take whatever works.
thanks again

I must be the only bonehead in history with this problem, since I did a couple of searches here and didn't come up with anything. My problem is, I can't meet Basso. I'm trying to sneak around the building he's standing in, but everytime I get close, that idiot guard who's jousting the practice dummy sees me and it's game over (I'm playing Expert difficulty). I've tried everything I can think of. I've raised the gate. I've gone down to the door where he says "Hey you in the black cowl," etc. hoping he would leave, but nothing. Can anyone help? Did I miss something? I hope so, because right now I'm about to terminate this FM with extreme prejudice :grr:

you should be able to walk right up to him and say hi. the guard jousting should totally ignore you since youve done nothign wrong. (im not sure if expert difficulty makes them your enemy?)
andyweaay did you do something to trigger them? you shouldnt even try to open that gate or get past them, and definitely dont climb up to the top of the tower where the gate descends. the reason is that if you are spotted in these restricted areas, you will be chased (seen)
so normally you should just walk right over the moving drwbridge, and over to basso. maybe someone knows whay you may be having the problem. or maybe your game got messed up and you should try a new one

You don't have a weapon drawn do you? As long as you're behaving you should not be having this problem.

Is your T2 game either version 1.18 or patched up to that? Some people encountered problems like this in Mission 1 when they were using an unpatched game. Also, I sometimes found I had problems with that if I had accidentally partly alerted someone without realizing it while picking a key or some such thing. Try restarting and going STRAIGHT to the meeting, with no weapons drawn and see if it works.

Thanks for the replies. Ok, I finally got past that area by getting Mr. Jousting Guard to go patrol up the stairs. Then I jumped off the parapet into the grass, taking a heap of damage, and ran around to Basso before he came back. For some reason, even though he had resumed his station by the time I was done talking to Basso, he wasn't hostile toward me anymore after that and I was able to leave without incident.
I don't think it was a weapons-drawn thing. I couldn't absolutely swear to it, but I'm reasonably sure that somewhere in those 50 gazillion times I tried to approach Basso before, I tried it with weapons sheathed. It seems more likely to me that I screwed up the script somehow by not going to Basso straightaway, since I visited Mercedes' house before I went to see him.
Oh, well. Thanks again. Now I'm tearing my hair out in the cathedral, looking for the cardinal!
