Sounds like you were on the wrong side of the gate - the guards out side are preventing acess one way or the other, by the cardinals orders; so if you approached from the side opposite Basso over the wall, they'd attack you on sight. :)

I had the same problem when I first played CL. Up to now I don't know what was wrong because when I restarted everything worked fine.

Not sure what you mean. A few things come to mind relating to "blue tile". Are you talking about the blue (ocean) gem on the purple archway, one of the blue blocks of carving on the portals, or something else?

Running it with XP shouldn't cause any problems at all. Once you've done what tacky said, walk through the doorway.

First mission - I cant get into murkbell.
I tried climing the vines and jumping, (with and without knocking out the bow guard) or going thru tower and putting out torch / and using invisibility potion - but always the same - mission failure.
Ive tried the sewers as per Purah's vague hint from cheap walkthrus but cant figure out where or how:sweat:

So it's not that you can't do it, the mission is failing? That shouldn't be happening, I don't think. Is your T2 ver. 1.18 or patched up to that version? If it's not, funny things can happen in this mission. You could also try restarting the mission to see if that helps. There's actually 4 or 5 ways into the other side of town, though I don't know if I remember them all, but if the mission is failing, how you do it may not matter.
Have you tried the attic way through yet? There's a spot where you can mantle up onto a low wall and into a small grassy area. There's a door you can go through and inside, a room with a guard in the middle. Go past him, up the stairs, into the apartment (the guard standing downstairs has the key) and, once you're in the apartment, go out the window and in the window in the next building. Go through the door to an attic, then jump out the attic window. That puts you in the other side of town, too.
