Okay, now I'm stuck again, this time in Arkay's Tomb.
I am in the area with the four doors. I went into one room with the fake crown, went down on the platform and got back out again (although I hear there was some treasure down there, I didn't see any) and then went into the passageway with the Speed potion and the key.
The book says look to the bones and keep to the north. The bones are nothing at all, and the passage doesn't go north. I've tried jumping onto the pedestal, but nothing happens. What's next?
EDIT: Okay, scratch that. I figured it out and got to the point where you're told you have one more key to find.
The problem is now that I can't get back down over the pit. I've tried approaching it as a pure jump, but can't do that because of the low overhead, and I've also tried it as a jump/mantle combination, and that doesn't work either. I'd hate to think that I got stymied in a Thief mission because of a jump. Has anyone else had trouble with this, and are there any suggestions? I have reloaded this point about 30 times and am really getting frustrated with this. Jumping in Thief is never a sure thing, but I've always managed eventually.

Arky's tomb requires that you deal with the
SKULL.
The Exit is from that room. A pile of rubble will fall down and open the ceiling.
It takes a little experimentation and imagination, but the KEY ( as in clue to the exit, not a KEY TO USE ELSEWHERE) and the Exit are there.
The treasure (loot) is the eyeballs of the skull. But save before you try different things. You will die often and quickly if you make a mistake.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF the above is beyond you:
Did you get the crown? You can knock it down with an arrow.
Did you trigger the trap in the room with the floating crown? It's not necessary, but you'll get some loot. Head back up out of that room towards the corner and you'll see a pile of bones on the floor. You can frob one of the them to open a doorway on your left. Hug the wall as you walk down it, though, as it's trapped.
If you ghost the tomb, you can't get out that way. It only works if you destroy the skull. You need to take your rock and go back to the hallway right near the beginning that had a pressure plate to make the face at the end of the hallway shoot fire arrows at you. (The very first one you saw, just down the hall and around the corner from the boulder entrance.) There's another pressure plate in that same hallway, farther up towards the corner. Use the rock to push it down and the boulder will open again. Then you can leave the same way you came in.
Yes, you can destroy the skull with holy water arrows, but it takes around 4 or 5 hits, I think. It's not easy. To get out, you need to go back to the hallway just inside the boulder where you entered. One of the doors in the room you teleported to (the one with the door to the hallway where you got the silver key) will take you back to the beginning hallway. Walk down the hallway from the boulder entrance, around the corner and watch the floor on that corridor. Not too far from the corner, there's a pressure plate. That's the one you need to keep pressed down to move the boulder away from the opening again. Then you can just walk back out to the park.
This should be enough hints for you. Here is a whole list of solutions to Legacy.

In the end I got some of the loot by creeping around the room behind the skull and then just going back the way I came, finally made it back over that jump. I wasn't able to get the necklace on the sarcophagus -- I activated the skull every time I tried. But I got everything else. Activating the skull was an impossible solution -- I'm playing on a laptop wth no mouse, and there was no way on earth I was going to be able to fire off Holy Water arrows fast enough. I just don't have enough control using a touchpad. Next time through I'll give that a try, though. I only got half the loot for this mission.

Hi! I am new at your forum ,althought I have consulted it lots of times for FMs.
This time I can't find the help I need so I have to ask the question:How do I remove the rock from the entrance of the tomb at the first part of the mission?I have 2 fire arrows ,I hit the rock but nothing happens.A walkthrough
suggested that, but... the arrow stays on the rock and burns constantly like candle on a cake.I hope someone recalls the solution !
Thank you all in advance ,Chrisanthi.

If I recall correctly Put the loose boulder on the floor panel. The weight will hold the passage open.

Welcome to the forum! :)
I think theBlackman is thinking of getting out if you've ghosted the tomb. The walkthrough may be a bit misleading as I think you need to light the torch on the wall by the rock. It says that he shot the fire arrow at the rock and it lit the torch as well.

Light torch, not rock

this has GOT to be the toughest one i played yet, but i think that's due to a glitch. :tsktsk:
i have been having that same prob w BJ-ing AI!
for example: i am in the fort,in a round room, just pickpocketed a key and an arrow from an archer, i had already put out the torches, i am in solid darkness and directly behind the archer but NOT touching him, he does NOT know i am there, there are NO other guards anywhere near, i successfully knock him out, and then i get that damned fail message (skull n xbones)!
it is really detracting from the quality of fun because i HATE forced ghosting and you never know with these guys, the patrols seem to change on me more than ever before, don't know if i should even continue with the fort part! :erg:
(nah, i'll just, as "ironman" from "Able Team" would say, "Just nut up and do it"! hope i have any nerves left after it! besides, after reading that letter in the office with the safe i can't open YET!, i got a rep to live up to!!!)
((that letter was WAY COOL!))

to CapSyn,
DUDE! don't go telling others what Thief is and what Thief isn't!
We all have different styles of playing!
To some Thief IS pure ghosting! To some it's being a BJ Mainiac!
To some it's being Robin freakin Hood!
To some it's being a one man slaughterhouse!(gladiator da theef!)
and to some, like me, it's a combination of all of those!
I LIKE using his tools too! as i have said, toys are meant to be played with!
BUT, there IS a tension filled pleasure in successfully ghosting thru a real sob area! (tho i'd prefer it to be MY choice, not forced on me!)
So lighten up ok?
(and yes, i did have a hellish time ghosting in the fort! what with all those sobs u CAN'T ko - stoopid damn helmetz! and the strict as an uptight Catholic school marm code on the AI alert status!)

Has anyone on here gotten the Potion of Black Lotus Nectar through the mission glitching? Because after I finally collected all the loot in Mission 1 I quicksaved in the room. Now everytime I finish the mission I wind up with way over the full amount of loot you can collect in the mission and I was able to buy the potion. It's always a random amount. I saved on the second mission after I bought it but I'm going to load my quicksave and do the mission without having 4,000 loot to buy equipment with. That just bugs me.
