I got all 1605 loot. The one that is missed in the walkthrough is a lucky coin in the cell to the left of the sleeping guard in the prison area. Good luck :)

I'm about a week behind everyone else as I've been busy working, but am now in mission 1 at the damnable tomb of Arhkyn...
Have got through the tomb, dodged all the traps, killed the skull of arkhyn, grabbed the loot. The ceiling opened up revealing a ladder to the surface. Trouble is, standing on the altar, I can't jump up to the ladder no matter how hard I try so I am assuming there's another exit, or something I'm missing. I tried to go back to the tomb entrance but the rock is closed again.
Tried dragging the rock used to weigh the first trap down all the way to the tomb chamber, and ussing that to jump to the ladder, but no joy. One of those things you just can't jump onto as far as I can tell.
Have I inadvertently sealed myself in the tomb forever? Is there a way to jump up to the ladder and it's just me being mad? Is the little rock in the corner of the tomb room that switches something relevant?
Help?
Soon?
I want to get on with the rest of the mission, and although I could skip the tomb using another save point, I would like to keep the loot!

misanthropy -
You can reach the ladder if you put one of the boulders that fell up on top of the central altar and then stand on it to reach the ladder. If you don't know how to do this, then just pick up a boulder and climb up, then, while standing up on top of the altar close to the ladder, look straight down at your feet, drop the boulder and jump at the same time and you'll end up standing on top of it. Then you'll be high enough to reach the ladder.
You can also go back to the first hallway and to the pressure plate that set off the fire arrows. Go farther up the hall towards the way you came in. If you move slowly, you'll find another pressure plate in the floor. Drop the rock slab or a boulder from the tomb on it and go back to the rock that blocks the opening where you came in. It should now be open and you can exit the way you entered. :)
Cheers 'walker. I can't recall seeing any boulders that fell...I'm playing on middle difficulty.
I'll have a poke around for boulders, failing that I'll try it with the slab, or failing that, I'll try going back to the start and doing the pressure plate you suggested...
Good tomb though. Nice to see some AD&D style tricky trappy stuff in an FM's...they are the perfect setting for it. Beats me why nobody has just coverted entire AD&D adventures/dungeons rather than dreaming up whole new maps.

I made an assumption that maybe I shouldn't have. Did you frob the little boulder in the back corner of the room??
misanthropy on 20/4/2002 at 22:09
I did, but the little blighter didn't seem to have any effect...does it cause boulders to fall somewhere else because nothing happened in the tomb?
Nightwalker on 20/4/2002 at 23:31
misanthropy -
If you frobbed that little boulder, the hatch in the ceiling above the central altar should have opened. A bunch of big boulders fall down and you can use one to climb up. Did you destroy the lich (skull)?? It doesn't work if you ghosted the tomb and left the skull intact. In that case, you have to go out the other way that I mentioned. One other thing to check...Is your copy of Thief 2 patched or already version 1.18? If it's not, then you need to download and install the patch, or you'll run into problems.
I need help on the skull
I can't get by it for the life of me, it seems no matter what I do it attacks me. Sometimes this causes the mission to end, sometimes it doesn't. (I suppose it's afraid the skull might identify me at the job that night?) But anyhow I can't even come close to the loot without an attack. Can the skull be destroyed? If so please tell me how because it seems like I've tried every weapon to no avail.
Nightwalker on 21/4/2002 at 01:51
Sharga -
It takes 4 or 5 hits of holy water to "kill" the skull. You can also ghost that room, but you have to exit back the way you came in. Are you using a patched version of T2?? Sometimes weird things happen when you're using the unpatched version and objectives in Mission 2 won't tick off.
