I'm pretty sure It's patched.
I don't think it's possible for me to ghost this since I can only take some coins and gems from the very right hand side of the table. Any closer and he rises up. I've tried a holy water arrow attack but the mission seems to end before I can get enough hits in. Oh, well. I know where the ladder leads to (now I know all the passages into Murkbell) and I've already gotten pretty far on the next mission so I'll just be content with having taken some loot and knowing that it is somehow possible to kill him.
BTW: How can it be possible to take the jewels from his eye without alerting him?
I am playing this one through again and I noticed Mercedes "spying" from the balcony. Upon entering the apartment there are two guards and a thief to get past. Is this just another teaser? Question, Is is possible to reach Mercedes at any point in this mission (1) on any difficulty. If so, what difficulty and how do you reach her?
I managed to catch her but it cost me 500 gold.
Afterwards at the end of the mission she wasn't in the courtyard outside the hotel window either.
How did you manage to catch Mercedes and why did it costs you money?:ebil:

Hey Nightwalker:
You said we had to use the patched T2 to play? I have my t1 t2 original missions installed seperately from my fm versions. When I run the patch it will only patch the original (because of the file names no doubt) I guess I'll have to rename the files, Patch, and rename the files.
Oh well, if it screws up my CL saves, I'll just have to go back and look for that cat some more.
Buy a gas arrow. If you don't leave the tunnel you can shoot her with it before she sees you.
I'm not sure what you mean about the T2 patch. I'm not much good at tech stuff. Do you mean you have 2 seperate installations of T2?? I didn't even know you could do that. :)
Sharga -
You can ghost the tomb and get all of the loot, including the rubies out of the eyes. :) I laid a moss arrow down over the threshold of the room (I don't know if that is necessary or not, but it worked for me.) Then jump over and into the room BUT DON'T LOOK AT THE SKULL!. Keep your eyes on the floor, go to the right, face the wall and keep your eyes on the floor. Crouch and move slowly down the wall and down the side until you are just past the center altar that the skull sits on. Don't go too far back. If you get too close to the little boulder in the back corner, he alerts. Then carefully pick up all the loot. Be careful not to touch the bone that highlights on the altar. That alerts him. Then move around front, get the rest of the loot, including the ruby eyes and leave. You have to go back out the way you came in, but you have lots of cash to start the next level. :)
I don't like the fact that the mission ends before you get in enough hits to destroy the skull. That shouldn't happen. Check and make sure you're running a patched game just after you start Mission #2, then if you have to install the patch, it'll only set you back to the beginning of Mission #2.

Thanks Nightwalker. I'll try that out tomorrow.
I spotted Mercedes in both places but I never thought of using a gas arrow, very clever.
I'm very sure that it's patched since the patch execute is sitting right in my thief folder. I doubt I would have downloaded it and never used it.

I haven't seen anyone else having this trouble, so here goes :)
I've explored the east side of town, including going over the garden wall and into the house with the attic (where I found an invisibility potion). Went to Mercedes' loft and down to the docks and through the garden. Found the entrance to the tomb and to the sewers and decided that I'm ready to chat with Basso.
Despite having passed numerous guards and citizens without incident, whenever I go into the courtyard to talk to Basso the guards attack and the mission objective to keep undercover fails. I don't have a blackjack out and I'm walking normally - what else do they want?! Do I have to waste a perfectly good invisibility potion just because Basso is a moron and decided to meet me by two hyper aware guards?
Cheers!

Howie had that problem, but I'm not sure we ever figured out exactly what it was. You could try restarting, since you haven't done too much yet and go directly to Basso before you do anything else. The only other thing I can think of to ask is whether you are using a patched version of T2?? People who aren't seem to be running into some weird problems and objectives won't tick off in Mission #2.

Now for something weird. I'm replaying the mission pack on cat thief, and, of course, re-did the tomb. First time round I managed to get most of the stuff from the floating skull by:
dodging fireballs, as I couldn't seem to ghost it. I didn't get the skulls eyes however.
This time round I couldn't use that technique, unfortunately as
I had less health, obviously, and I did take one or two hits first time round. Yet still I couldn't ghost it. So came up with a different way (which I don't think has been mentioned as of yet) I drank an invisibility potion. The skull still raised but no fireballs when I was invisible. Just enough time to get most of the stuff. The only thing I failed to get were the eyes again. Why? Because every time I frobbed them I crashed to desktop.
However, this is not a memory problem, I've got 512megs of the stuff and crashed nowhere else in the entire game!
After a couple of crashes I accepted my fate and just didn't steal the eyes... no crash. :weird:
