I'm at the cemetary and ready to get the Cylix back, but I can't get through the zombies. How did you deal with them?
Update: Nevermind. I finally got it. It just played out differently than I expected.

Am I the only one that got the Cylix by going through St. Trinnet's rather than going through Meepwood Cemetery? Is the way I went in actually supposed to be a way to get *out*? Maybe I did it backwards (though I think it's easier going through St. Trinnett's anyway).
I didn't even realize Meepwood *connected* to Arcandor's lair until I was almost finished with the mission (and had already stolen the Cylix back *and* destroyed it in the forge). I know Mercedes says as much back in Garrett's room when she gives him the keys to Meepwood, but I never really registered what she said until *after* I discovered the way into Arcandor's lair in Meepwood. Then I went, "Oh yeah, *that's* what Mercedes meant--I get it now!" :-)

That door would not unlock for me from the cathedral side. So, with spoilers please. How did you get the door open in the Cathedral?

It doesn't matter which way you get to the cemetary. There's no "right" way. :) Blackman,
the key to the door at the bottom of the stairs in the Cathedral opens with a key you can only find after you've triggered the undead. After that point, you can find the key in under the edge of a desk (I think that's what it is) in the room at the top of the stairs.
Thanks. I searched that area well, but I must have missed it. :D

I don't have a lot of time, so I haven't been exploring the maps as much as I usually would. I've been completing the FM's objective (playing foodpad level) as directly as I can. This is how I did it:
From the apartment, I went back over the aquaduct and cut through the police station to look for gear. I went out the double doors, spotted the smelting place, and ran along the planks until I got to the extending bridge. I went across it, turned off the lights at the entrance to the cemetary, went through the front gates, and ran around back to lose any zombies that were onto me. I noticed the front door to the caretaker's house and ran past the zombies to get in. I wanted to explore the house, but the parade of zombies going in and out (especially the vapor cloud one) kept me from doing much. I tried a couple times to kill them, but I didn't have the gear. I slowly walked around the living room in the dark until I found the closet with the trapdoor in the floor. I climbed down to the basement, found the hole to the lower basement, got the Cylix, went back up through the hole, out the basement doors and around the back of the house, and ran past the zombies and out the gate. An undead guard was coming after me, so I jumped into the water at the extending bridge and swam to the smelting place.
It was pretty sloppy, but I didn't have time to look for alternatives or hunt for weapons.

I never actually found the key to the cellar door in the cathedral--I kinda improvised. ;-)
I just planted a mine at the door, then stepped as far up the steps as I could and still see the mine, then I triggered the mine with a broadhead arrow and blew the door open. :-)
There's also another way into the cellar of the caretaker's manor besides going through the front door, and there's *also* another way into Arcandor's lair from the cemetery besides the manor:
If you go all the way to the back wall of the cemetery, you can see that there's space between that wall and the far left wall of the manor. The vampire vapor often sits there when it's not roaming the cemetery or inside the house. When the vapor isn't there, run along the back wall of the cemetery and past the left side of the house, then turn to the right and go behind the house. You'll see two doors set at a slight angle up from the ground. Open those, and it takes you directly into the cellar where you can look down into the hole over Arcandor's lair, without having to make your way through the house and find the trap door.
And the other way into the lair: when you first enter the cemetery, look to your right--see the tall stone kiosk-like monument standing in the brightly lit area just in front of the manor? If you walk up to that, it highlights. Right-click and it triggers a door to open which you can't see from there. Go back to the shadowy part of the cemetery and make your way to the back wall again. In one of those stone walls that acts almost like an "isle seperator" in the shadowy part of the cemetery, an ivy-covered panel will have opened to reveal a doorway. If you go in there and go down the ramp, you'll be inside Arcandor's lair.
Yeah. I got out of the cellar on one venture by Bashing the door from inside the mausaleum. The door looked like it should open, and I just bulled my way through from the inside.

I was wondering how that vapor got into Arcandor's lair. I was feeling pretty pinched to get out of there as soon as possible, so I just grabbed the Cylix and climbed out.

I also got in from St. Trinnet's. But I was playing at cleaning the undead out of the quarter so I went into the cemetary and hunted them down one by one. I left the vampire mist becuase I didn't want to use too many flashbombs and I wasn't coming back so it wasn't critical to eliminate the mist.
