Well, "it" actually isn't doing anything. I have no idea why that should be the case, but it does suggest that something is corrupted in my version of the level.

Is your T2 ver. 1.18 or patched up to that version? If it's not, it would explain the problems you've been having as this mission pack is known to not run properly on ver. 1.07.

have come to CL belatedly and am hugely impressed: a wonderful city map.
However...
Probably because of something I've done or am doing, I just can't make the spell work. I'd reached 12 attempts before I stopped counting. I'm sure that I'm foillowing the spell. Two questions:
- do the items placed have to be on a specific spot, or is within the triangle good enough?
- and (because this is starting to bug me, and I really do want to continue with this great FM) does anyone have a suitable savegame?
Thanks, H

I just did it and I think you have to put them down in the order they are put in the book.
Maybe?

Yes, that's how I've been doing it. Also tried the quicksave route (suggested in this thread somewhere) - but no luck.

new one, why is the door to the gem shop destroyed and replaced with an inert door when the night of the living dead starts, makes it hard to steal the vampyre eye if you can't get in the shop, and its hard to know about the gems until you've played a while, this is very dissapointing. i'm unclear why this was done, and i'm a little pissed about it. stupid things like this detract from what should be a nearly perfect mission.
Well, I think it IS a perfect mission pack of truly commercial quality (could be released by LGS as T2 addon). The mission pack is innovative and just as full of sidequests and dynamic events as it's possible for dark engine mission, it's revolutionary in that regard.
Hardly the static setting of “Assassins,” Calendra’s Legacy will feature dynamic hazards, forcing the player to adopt different methods of sneaking through the Venice-like setting. Calendra's Legacy will also feature a more thief-like and AI-evasion type of game play (where CC was sometimes criticized for it’s non-thief game play and its many “empty” locations.) Expect Calendra’s Legacy to take the cityscape setting to a new level of interactive puzzles, sneaking, and creative theft. - from a doc in the Goodies folder.
Some places (not only gem shop) in Murkbell are accesible only prior certain event, others - after. If you want to experience the mission fully, you have to be a perfectionist (i.e. you should research the city before and after the event).
But noone press you to do it if you don't want to. The main objectives obviously can be finished in any case. It's just a dynamic city and not "old school" static setting, as it's stated in the doc.

The gem shop and the Psychic´s store closes when the NLDE starts. You can still get the vampyre eye because it magically moves to a different location if you haven´t grabbed it before you trigger the event.

First of all - thanks to all concerned for a great FM.
Apologies if this has come up before or I am just being stupid. I have searched around the forums but had no luck.
I've been playing mission 2 and seem to have no blackjack, no sword and there do not appear to be any keys, even where the walkthrough says they should be. Now, I don't mind not using the sword and blackjack but it means I can't unselect if I have been using say, a rope arrow, which affects my visibilty. It's also 'a bit difficult' to unlock un-pickable doors without keys.
If I restore my original Thief2 with Darkloader all seems fine and all was fine with Calendra's legacy mission 1. Is this a bug or am I being an idiot?

You don't get your weapons until after you visit Mercedes at the apartment. Before that, the only weapons you pick up are ones you find, like water arrows, etc.
There aren't really many keys in this mission. How far have you gone in it? It would be a problem if keys really weren't showing up for you. Which keys in particular have you not been able to locate?
As for unselecting your weapons, you should be able to do that anyway. There's a key for "Clear weapons" that leaves Garrett's hands empty. The default key is the "` ~" key, I believe. Check your key bindings if you've changed them from the default ones to see which key you need to use or if you have to bind a key to "clear weapons".

I think you can pick up the Kharras Drahg (Vampyre Blade) on the way to the Cathedral (except for Footpad, in which I was never able to locate the Dagger; does it not appear in that difficulty?).
