The cat
wasn't too hard for me to find, and I wasn't even looking for it. But the carrier was already alerted and had a few friends around so I decided to go back and get the cat later, hopefully it's still there.
Speaking of Act II, I am starting to get worried. The Cylix objective has not checked off even though I have done the cathedral and am well into the rest of the objectives. Since I had done 4 dry runs first and went straight to the Cardinal's bedroom, I am sure I didn't arrive too late. The Cardinal said to drop the Cylix in the bin, I did not hear any bells rings at any time.
Does this objective not check off at that time or am I in trouble?
:)

Playing the mission for the fourth time I run into an "Easter Egg" I never saw before.
South of Vilrath's Garden in the canal I encountered a skeletton standing on the ground there in the water, that talks continous to itself. It obviously looks for jortul and than tells he's my "sex-boy". It never attacks when I dived down to have a closer look. Now I will see if I found more funny stuff around town.

Klatremus: So it's possible to grab your gear without triggering the NOTLD? Hm. But I got to get all the loot ... :ebil:

Never found a "sex boy" skeleton - something to look for when I play this FM again. Man that mission was scarey... (mission 2).

i DON'T like what a scumbag Garrett is in this one! Now he's gonna drop her diary off to the cops?!)
backstabbing her isn't bad nuff? now he's gonna rat her out to the pigs?
and i have to also say, the walkthrough is almost worthless, it's not "boring" as someone has said in this thread, it's that it reads as if it's a friggin "how i spent my night" journal instead of just getting to the blasted point of what, where, when, and how like a walkthrough is sposed to do!
most people, me incl., use a walkthrough to spot check problems doing something or finding something; when the walkthrough is done the way this one was, you have to go through the whole thing paying CLOSE attention to EVERYTHING he did just to find the one bit of info YOU need!
or just be a clone of the author and do each and everything just as he did, and that aint cool, specially since we all got diff play styles!
(ie: i went right to my room after the cylix, i am NOT a 'pure' ghoster, i prefer bj-ing an obstacle in an area that i will have to go through more than just once, if i am not gonna return thru, then i will just ghost! whereas the walkthrough writer did 75/80% of mission before returning to get his gear!)
(don't know why he ever even bothers with any gear at all then! toys are meant to be played with!))
oh, one thing he was totally right about was the massive amount of stuff to do and that it can be done in any order, in which case the walkthru should have been broken up into sections by area, ie:
Museum and immediate area
Meepwood
Wizards Guild
etc, etc... much easier for spot checking
um, i don't get my sword in this one? (again?)

the bloodsucker blade i done been hearin bout! ;) :p
thanx buddy!
(now i am gonna get ALL con-fu-sed! gonna start thinking imma playin a TDS FM not a TMA FM!!!)
Yes, i hate all those undead too! but what the hell, i will just figure it as "Old Quarter Revisited"!
(tho i sure wish to hell i had a LOT more Holy Waters and water arrows and flash bombs and flash mines, oh hell, i need some of those WONDERFUL UV 'nades from "Blade 3"! HAH!!!)

I'm in the timed section. I might make it to the Cathedral fast enough next time. Might. I can get there, all right, but I can't find the Cardinal, and I don't have time to stop and loot, which is a bit upsetting for a thief. :( This is fun, but I prefer a slow, sneaky pace.
Edit: Oh wait. This is not fair. I have to listen to the whole dialogue with the appraiser every time? Twice I've saved just after the dialogue ends so I can start the run again again wthout having to sit through it all, and now I realize that my saves are no good. When I load I'm at the start of the dialogue. That is a total, unmitigated, drag.
Oh well.

The problem with killing the
invisible ghost of the creature from CC is a bug, I believe. It wasn't supposed to be that way.
Okay, I replayed the whole series for the umpteenth time -- it's actually taken me ten years to fully appreciate and understand the evil genius behind Purah's design in Part II, in particular. Slow, am I?
The gameplay puzzles, in particular, are amazing -- I don't know what else to call them, they are not puzzle puzzles but embedded within the gameplay, and all fine tuned to fit the approach the player decides to take. For example,
(1) How to kill an unkillable monster -- the Calendra Beast, I mean. As a matter of fact, jiansonz found the solution 10 years ago (see this thread (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=687312) ) but I only understood it now.
I actually thought/believed when Purah let it be known that classifying the beast as human was a bug! Jeez. Slow, am I? :D But then again, the Beast fills me with so much fear and loathing -- silly, it's supposed to be only a game (?) -- that I seriously doubt I could carry it out.
(2) How to pickpocket the museum guard with the lantern (provided you decided to ghost/do without the blackjack this part of the mission). I wasn't aware there was a series of posts discussing this issue (thank you Nightwalker, nevertheless), so I finally found a very good spot myself (you didn't have to waste a moss arrow to do it, too),
just hide upstairs in the corner of the lift shaft, sooner or later the guard will pass you by (just how did Purah do it? Make the AIs vary their routes, I mean. It really takes a while to detect a pattern, and some of them are really a pain in the neck (like the priest wondering in and out of the warehouse in Part III).
I'm not saying it's a perfect 100% quality series but it's certainly one of the most intricate and sophisticated I've ever played. Hard to believe it was all designed 10 years ago.
