Amusement Park (Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Magic Mountain. Take your pick)
Is Magic Mountain still gang-infested, or has that been more or less resolved?

Santa Monica or Venice Beach. It is true the pier is on a very touristy side, but even so, on a nice warm day, the beaches are absolutely wonderful.
Santa Monica might be a better tourist destination overall, but Zuma Beach is probably what you'll want to hit if you want a little relaxing beach time. Not too far from Santa Monica, and you can take Pacific Coast Highway on the way up and check out what Malibu has to offer on the way through (not too terribly much, but there are good views along the way, and PCH is beautifully-paved).

On your way through to SF you might also stop in San Jose for:
* A tour of the (
http://www.winchestermysteryhouse.com/) Winchester Mystery House. It's pretty much the reason that I first started watching haunted house movies as a kid.
* A visit to the (
http://www.egyptianmuseum.org/) Rosicrucian Museum, if you're into the ancient Egyptian thing.

Wow, Monument Valley as well? That's quite a lot of ground to cover in just two weeks. Take lotsa pictures.
I would take 2 weeks just to cover the Grand Circle/Four Corners area (Vegas, Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, Bryce, Zion, etc.) and a separate 2 weeks for the CA coast.

I'll try to. And I will be in California a week earlier actually. I'm staying at a friends place for a week. In return for showing me around her neck of the woods (Fresno) I have to cook her Chinese food for a bloody week. Though I do intend on tandem skydiving while I'm there... :ebil:

--Wine Country, an hour away from SF. Sonoma or Napa, either one. PM me for winery recommendations if needed, though if you ever played Thief, (
http://www.castellodiamorosa.com/) this place is really cool and has to be seen to be believed. Complete with a real dungeon!
--Big Sur is an absolute must. If you are driving from SF to LA, you might as well take the Pacific Coast Highway.

Sure! Come to Ohio!... :cool:
miss you, Bob.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm only going to be in Cali.
Trust me, I'd love to do an interstate TTLG meetup whilst sampling the local delicacies.

Yeah, we know you would like to have some meat up there....
:weird:

Does Ohio even have delicacies? Other then the Cleveland Browns, I mean.
