Calling all photography enthusiasts... (disclaimer: for very selfish reasons!)

Hey all, nice of you to come here and check this thread out ;)

So, it's been waaaaaay too long since (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136303) I last participated in a photography contest, and the time has come to do it again. So I entered this "Travel Portraits" contest with a picture I call (http://www.voyageursdumonde.fr/voyage-sur-mesure/grand-prix-photo/portraits-de-voyages/la-flute-magique) "The Magical Flute", the portrait of a snake charmer working his magic on a cobra. It was taken last February in the famed and magnificent Amber Fort of Jaipur in Rajasthan (India).

I got a few other shots of India in my (https://500px.com/raphaelrelat) 500px gallery (and other stuff).

For the technically inclined, it was taken with a Nikon F5 and a Nikkor 35-105, on Fujifilm Superia 200. This is a direct scan, I haven't retouched it in any way.

So all this talk is to kindly ask you for your vote if you like the shot, to increase my chances to get a little something. Bonjour mon ami le French, I would like to vote for your entry but cannot find your submission amongst the other excellent images. I believe you have a good chance if quality and content mean anything :) I do need a link tho'

This is a film camera, correct? Did you make any adjustments when developing?

Specter - Yup it's film. The development is done by a shop so I can't say for sure, but I don't think any tweaks are applied at all (except probably choosing the right brand and ISO settings when charging it in the machine). I do sometimes work the scans in Lightroom afterwards but only to correct exposure/lighting and sometimes saturation. That said, I love the look of Superia film and I am usually very satisfied with the raw results.
When (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.562592340453894.1073741825.100001094005028&type=1&l=1bbbcf67dd) doing B&W, I also use Lightroom after the fact, as I don't develop anything at home. As much as I'd like to, I have neither the skill nor the space for that...

The F5 is a beast built like a tank and weighing the same, but coupled to the 35-105 it's the most versatile combo I've ever had, and it's been with me on all my travels lately... Love it. I currently have 8 rolls from my summer trip to the US waiting to be developed. Wheee :)

Well, I like the shot! I do hope it works for you! I always struggle shooting people, so I stick with wildlife, landscapes and architecture.

I got into photography only in the last 3 or 4 years, so I know nothing of film. I shoot with a D7000, and I pretty much always do at least a little touch up of the obvious things. I think its almost expected these days.

I took a peak at your site and there are a number of shots I really like! Süleymaniye-Camii is my favorite!
