Played Thief 3, loved it. but never actually played thief 1 or 2. And in light of Yahtzee's Review, I really want to try it now, since they seem to be the best of the 3.
Sadly, I can't seem to find it on GoG, Steam, or Gametap. So can this game still be found anywhere, short of EBAY, and hopefully in a downloadable form?
It's a shame, cause I remember running across the game 7 years ago in a flea market, for only about 5 dollars. Shoulda grabbed it then.

Indeed. Well, it should still be available anyway on the internet. Amazon had it if i'm not mistaken. Someone like sNeaksie probably knows it better. ;)

Hmm you used to be able to get these on the sold out software versions. Thief gold has always been hard to get but 1 and 2 were easy to find. I wouldn't recommend getting direct download drm style ones direct from eidos cos apparently they don't work with fms and also may not work with fixes you might need to get them running properly (ddfix).
Hopefully they will be available on the good old games thing soon then.

Why, what's wrong with Ebay? Why do some people have a sort of ingrained fear of Ebay? Yeah, yeah, horror stories, I'm sure.
You won't find it cheaper.

I know several people who were burned by e-bay sellers. Lies about condition, inadequate packing materials, price-gouging. Of course, most sellers are okay.
What I find stranger is that downloading from Eidos themselves is not an option for those looking to download them. I'd prefer to own an official CD, to eliminate electronic registration and limited licensing. A Google search reveals that all the games are legally downloadable, so it's only a matter of whether a person is getting what they think they are. The complete Thief Gold is still difficult to find for cheap. If one only wants the game and none of the extras, which includes DromEd, they will have a harder time. Many of these games are still on Amazon, too.

All I said was the other choice is amazon.com... I wasn't knocking ebay in that post. However, I do think that ebay isn't necessarily the best place to go. A lot of times you are dealing with an individual rather than a company, and can get screwed or you never know what will happen.

Naaa I was talking to the OP, some people seem to have irrational fears.
VAST majority of sellers on Ebay are above board. And if they aren't, you always have the Paypal Defence Force on your side. :)

I've bought from Ebay for 11 years now, no problems. You have to be careful, check feedback, buyer beware. Don't let a few bad apples spoil it. I think too, it depends on what is being sold. There is more of scam with electronics, from what I've heard and read.
