Hello people.
Thanks to a Steam 'stealth games' sale last week, I could get Thief Gold for cheap :D
I noticed the outstanding work through the years by artists and genius level designers who were using DromEd. I don't pretend I am able to make as good stuff, but I would like to try DromEd by myself just by curiosity in the begin and see how a level can be made, and continue on a more serious approach later...
Then, I've installed Thief Gold (note: I use the Steam game version) and I'm using the HD texture pack, but I cannot use DromEd. I have a 1920x1080 monitor and I can play without a problem with this resolution on the proper game, but DromEd refuse to run on this resolution (well, DromEd itself run at it's own resolution, 800x600 I believe but it refuse to go to game mode when I want to walk a few steps on the map).
I do not know why I have this problem as I can run the main campain at 1920x1080 as said earlier. Running the 'in-game DromEd' at a resolution lower than 1920x1080 is not really an option to me, I really would like to get the in-game to work at this specific resolution. When I try, DromEd return me this error message then closes by itself :

;Screen resolution
;Must be 800x600 or greater
gWidth=800
gHeight=600(modified)
[Main]

gWidth=1920
gHeight=1080Any ideas please ? :angel:

Why is there a ddfix.ini in your install? DDFix has been obsolete for years now.

ZB is right. For some years we have had a much more comprehensive patch which is commonly called New Dark, or the New Dark patch. There are also new tools to install the patch easily for both TG and T2. For TG, the install tool is called (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733) TFix, and for T2 the tool is (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106) Tafferpatcher. This patch solves many issues in the game, and provides many new abilities in Dromed. It also makes it pretty easy for the game and editor to run on modern machines.
Be sure to read the installation instructions in the first post, and if you have any problems, post in one of those threads and you will get help. Once you have New Dark installed, then return here and we'll see if we can guide you further.

Thank you for your answers. That file ddfix.ini was already there when I installed the game via Steam, but i also Installed TFix before playing the game for the first time as it was recommanded by users on the steam community (I also patched the game to it's french version).
So, I do have TFix but if I need to modify something from here I don't know what it is. if i don't have to modify a thing, then it just won't work on 1920x1080, The maximum resolution I can choose on the 'in-game DromEd' is 1024x768 while still no problem to make the solo game mode to 1920x1080.

The DromEd window is smaller than your desktop/ game resolution
If your desktop resolution is 1920x1080 then edit the user.cfg like this
edit_screen_size 1680,1050
btw, copy the Thief folder out of that steam folder, like C:/ThiefG or whatever.

TFix doesn't actually include the latest version of DromEd (1.23) and hence you're using the original DromEd version, which is years out of date. (
"http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145514) Download NewDark 1.23 and extract the files from editor.zip to your Thief Gold folder.
Oh and you might want the Dromed Basic Toolkit to make life a bit easier too. Then you can edit the screen size in user.cfg, but you won't want it in 1920x1080 if that's your screen res. Setting it to your screen resolution causes the window to be far too big, as the resolution setting doesn't take into account the title bar and the top menu.

1. Yes it does, it says so right at the top of the thread.
2. Even if it were out of date, it would be installing 1.22 and FairyQueen wouldn't be using OldDark.

Thanks again for the answers.
I tried to change DromEd's resolution as mentionned at first, but DromEd won't open above a resolution of 1024x768. We can notice that this was the same for the 'in-game DromEd' (crashing and back to desktop above a resolution of 1024x768). It might confirm there is definitly something wrong with my DromEd and not in the original game, but i'm a bit surprised to be honest that even DromEd itself won't run on an higher resolution.
Then I tried Tafferwocky's link to NewDark 1.23. I was suspicious as the files seemed to refer more to Thief 2 than Thief Gold but believe it or not, I don't have resolution problems anymore :D
Now I can play 'in-game DromEd' at 1920x1080 :thumb:
Thank you everybody for your help and the spend time :angel:
