ditto
Seems pretty clear that what we do is allowed:
Quote:
...CGTextures offers photographs of materials ("Textures") on its website ((
www.cgtextures.com)) for game developers, special effects artists, graphic designers and other professions. No payment or royalties are required to use these Textures. The use of Textures is non-exclusive, royalty free, and you have the right to modify them for the uses permitted under the clause Conditions of Use.
Quote:
CONDITIONS OF USE
Use of the Textures is only allowed under the following conditions:
- Private or commercial use
- Use in 2D or 3D computer graphics, movies and printed media
- Incorporation in computer games, 3D models
- Selling 3D models bundled with modified versions of the textures, when the texture is customized for the 3D model
That's what we are doing.

I'm no lawyer, but I see the language "You are not allowed to: ... sell or redistribute modified photos as textures or textures pack" as a problem for the Canon texture pack. I don't see any problem with using the photos in making textures used in a mission and distributing the mission. A mission is not a textures pack.

I never thought that texture was sup[posed to look like worn wood. I believe the intent is to have a column that looks like this:

when used architecturally they are more likely to be stone ...

but could be wood, just not weathered like your texture, I don't think.

I like! :thumb:
But don't forget the caps in the OM texture at the top & bottom.

Texture name ends in w which I think means wood in this case. Also the texture has wooden sounds set in gamesys.

Agreed.

My issue is the weathering much more so than the wood. Wood is likely right.

Too much detail on that last one I'd say. Plus it just looks like (
http://cgtextures.com/texview.php?id=3528&PHPSESSID=meudjh0fbmi32g73890ahun9u1) cgtextures rather than Thief, to me anyway. Looking at the original, and the context of Constantine's manor, I'd say it could easily be twisted wood/vine. The lighting in the cutscene screenshot looks like polished wood to me.
