Well Ren chastised me for not posting it, so:

(PS: I totally missed the already sepia-toned shelf a few posts back. That would've worked much better.)

Looking at them side by side, the colors do need some adjustment. The shelves are a little too grey and the books are very different, but I thought we agreed to not trying to duplicate the original books exactly. The original has more white books on the right side shelves and more dark covers on the left than the new texture. So there will be differences in the look. But when the cobwebs get placed, that should add a bit more bluing to the look, so I would say hold back the complaints until R has had a chance to dirty things up.

I've mentioned before that he should darken them...so, I agree.

Yeah, we did agree on having the books not be exactly like the original, as long as it kept the overall look and feel...otherwise we would've been riding Ren's ass for every book that was there or not...Yet, the blue tint on the books captures the original look and feel, whilst the yellow does not...plain and simple.

Histograms don't lie-- There is no blue dominance in the original texture. If anything, it's
slightly green-dominant.
That's why I said
bluish...Yet, you've totally missed the salient point, which is using a colder bluish tint instead of a warmer yellowish one, in order to capture the original look and feel...In this case, it's not important that I express the exact hue appearing on the histogram, as everyone knows what I mean (as shown via image comparison)...but I'm sure you already knew that...:ebil:

And when did the Keepers invent those red-bordered adhesive stickers? Over half the books have those freaking things on them.
Yep...Larry and I took issue with them, as well.

About the same time the old III M opened up shop in the city. Started building all those nifty inventions we get in TDP... And those adhesive strips, which the only reason we don't see those in the original games was that it was impossible to render the sticky residue. (But thank goodness for 1.19... Now we can reinstate sticky-notes, As per the developers' original vision)
Or, it's force of habit on Ren's part. Dunno. :p

No shit. I'm from west TN originally, and now live about 4-5 hours up I-75 from you.
Hell, yeah. I think you're the first TTLGer who comes from my neck of the woods. If you're about 5 hours up from me, that puts you around middle Kentucky, right?
Okay, now down to business.
The stickers? Gone tonight. Should take me about an hour or so to do. I wish I removed them ahead of time now, but I liked the way they looked. Colors? Always tweakable. Albert's picture above? Haunted my dreams last night, screaming "YOOOOO WILL NEVER BE FINISHED WITH MEEEEE" while rattling chains. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried a little. Spiderwebs? Actually having a hard time getting them to look good. They aren't spiderwebs exactly, more like the wispy hanging strands of...whatever you'd expect to see in 80's fantasy horror movies. They drape over everything in the texture, and getting them looking just right has been a bit of a challenge, specially since I've never worked on anything like them before. I've already scraped two attempts at it. Still ongoing.
...and the saga continues.

What? Putting stickers on everything, or not fixing obvious problems? Cuz both of them apply. :P

The original cobweb variation is neither warm nor cool. It's a balanced neutral.
