That's a somewhat indistinct texture and, as such, hard to be certain about. I think it looks more like a brick wall that was once coated in plaster, but large portions of it have fallen off. That texture is used in the Keeper Shrine in The Haunted Cathedral, so it has every reason to look ancient and worn.
So would you say my base example above would be a good fit, or should it be more plaster with less brick sticking through?
I'm thinking about doing something I haven't done before with this texture: doing a high poly sculpt and seeing how it turns out. The biggest issue is baking the lighting onto it beyond ambient occlusion, which I'm not very good at. If I can get some good results out of it though, I'll have learned something that'll help tons with some of the more difficult textures I might do later.

It looks too deliberate to be a conversion error. I'm thinking it's moss.
The perspective on that texture is all kinds of weird. Do you think the arch is sunk into the bricks, or sitting on top of them?

Also, would you mind sharing the .psd files (assuming they're made in Photoshop?) In case someone wants to try to make less-sharp variations?
Most of those have seen a birthday or two, done back when I just did it for my own amusement, so the PSDs are long gone, I'm afraid. Please do pipe in to give me feedback/pull me by the ear when I make all new ones to make sure I don't oversharpen those too, though. :P

Those windows are all amazing.
I declare the City family to now be 7% complete.
epithumia on 2/11/2012 at 20:07
So what's the total completion percentage? Might have to go out to a couple of decimals.

But I didn't code that!
Hang on...
1.3322%
That's a bit unfair, though, since a few of those textures are repeated. Or animated. Or software-only water/sky.

Note that original thief's clock has its Cancer part divided into 7 parts as opposed to real-life one which has only 6 parts for every month. Intentionally or not, it may have a perfect sense for Thief universe because 365 = 11*6*5 + 1*7*5. I think it's better be kept this way.

What do you all think about this interpretation of the tiles, a hand made terra cotta style with depth. I'm beginning to like it.
I would say the smoother, polished version, is more akin to the look and feel of the original.

Those inconsistent join thicknesses are driving me bonkers.
Well, that is very interesting and amusing, considering this is how the original is depicted...To even-out the joint thickness, would be to diminish the odd surrealism expressed in The World.

Untrue. Stained glass can be beveled...as per artistic preference...

I agree that it is intended to be moss...notice the cobwebs, as well.

Good eye...and I agree that this should be kept true to the Thief Universe. Yet again, another example of that subtle, surrealistic, non-Earth difference.
