Soul tear; those look very good, but the colours are a little off. The first needs to be a bit darker, and I think the second needs a little desaturation on the red-brown bricks, as the colour looks a little unnatural.
Regarding blox, more of a general question than specific feedback: what would you expect to be between the blocks in this texture? It just looks like blackness, but on a high-res texture we might want to show what's down there. Maybe some dark earthen texture visible in the cracks?

I added dirt backround to my second variant now. Refresh browser window if it's not visible.

That looks better.
Some of the blocks have sharp lines that clearly show where they were copy-pasted onto the background, rather than having edges which smoothly fit into the background. This is most visible on the left edges of many of the blocks, for example the 4th block on the top row.

Troutpack: That's nice. I think the skulls could be a little dirtier, though. It would help them look like a part of the wall.

I removed white lines from my blox imitation:
Looks pretty good to me. I'd vote them in.
...though why are you making them so small? You've got a higher res original you're working from, right?

Also I gave wetbrick from core_2 a try:
Those blox look pretty good now. Adding them to the family.
The wetbrick looks very nice, too. Something feels a little off about it, though. I think the bricks are a bit too bright and red, compared to the original's dark and muted colours.
Also, yes, why not 512x512?

The source images I got from cgtextures worked best with 256x256. Should I make 512x512 remakes in 1:1 or 4:1 for more variety?

I tried my hand at one of the old basement family textures: [...] It does have a bit of repetition, quite a lot actually. Hard to find good skulls nowadays.
I wonder if the skulls shouldn't be more dense like if actually stacked on top of each other and then grouted. Something like (

Good work you guys.
