Something that's velour-like, and it seems to me to approach this kind of tactile texture, but not as deep a pile, smoother, yet certainly not this material or manufacture type:

There's no horizontal or vertical "weave", per se, so not like this, either:

There's a material name I cannot recall, here, but velour carpet is the closest I can come up with for what I'm thinking right now.

Looks like a frieze or some kind of plaster or wallpaper to me.

Any in-game shots? That might help. I was thinking a woven tapestry texture. This is blown up, but you can see the weaving of the individual threads.

this is an "Bildwirkerei" (the old medivial german word for "wall tapestry"^^)

my fammily has a tapestry with our "Coat_of_arms" wich look like this from near:

i would say because the texture is used for both walls and floors it should look like my second link
the brown parts is softer and sticks out of the background

Guess that means LGS didn't know what it was either - a frieze in one mission, a carpet in another. :p

Also, the angled tiling wall texture on that last pic makes for a freaky little optical illusion if you scroll up and down real fast!

Anyone working on these? I've no plans to do these myself, I just was doing a little investigation into possible source pics.

Church of Bones, Prague. Just some inspiration shots here if the original needed re-interpretation. I think skulls packed into femora and humeri look pretty good, as opposed to dirt (sounds nice and pretentious too).
