ok to throw them in?
Yes. You can assume the same for any other original thing I improve.

note: the broken chests have similarly poor mapping, I believe.
I'll have a look. It's a good job I've written a (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141601) program that makes it really easy to convert things to 3ds and find all the right textures.

thanks.
btw, I was aware of the tool, it's just that I can't do any 3d modeling. not yet, anyway. *looks at the gigantic pile of SS2 models that need a fix*

That's not a problem, I'm just taking the opportunity to post the link.
Here is the broken LC chest:

I just happened to load miss5 so I may as well report a few more texture issues.
These are too small:
core_1/bigbl
core_1/bigbl2
core_1/bloxwall
core_1/brickfl1
I'm guessing the updates have twice as many bricks as the originals, so the terrain_scale values need to be doubled. I haven't checked everything so there could be more with that issue.
edit:
Another one that needs to be scaled up:
core_1/wdplnk2g

core_2/wdplnk needs its terrain_scale doubling
The same applies to:
core_2/wdplnkg
core2/brick1
city/rooftile
core_2/marb2 (but this doesn't match the style of the original)
vicm09/wall03bo needs to be doubled in witdh (in the mtl file)
When I was working on those chest models, I noticed the gold on the sides of the blue chest didn't quite match the gold on the rest of the model. It has a slightly more orange colour.
