Thanks Gecko, that's just my take on the texture, it's open to anyone to interpret really (could do with a higher res pic..hmm).
I'm just having a blast finding the source material.:D

Ok; so I generally never post on message boards but this was just so surreal that I had to register.
Yesterday I casually browsed by this thread for the first time since; I think first quarter of this year. And was pleasantly surprised by all the progress that had been made in the intervening time.
Particularly inspired by Purgator's fantastic source finds, I spent a solid couple of hours yesterday fruitlessly Google image searching for the source of Bafford\b21, only to browse this thread again today and finding it here waiting for me. What are the odds!
You are simply the best Purgator!
Ok, I'll shut up now and go back to lurking …

Welcome to the forum and thanks, Blyethcrogan. It's good to have another set of eyes on the prize, as it were.
I was down so many blind alleys with b21 it just wasn't funny. It was a b/w pic of St Benedict in a tatty old book that led me to this find.
There are many more textures to be discovered so, keep looking!:D

Well looky-loo, turns out I can play at being an interweb detective too. :cheeky:

Unfortunately, all sources I could find were either lo-res, at an angle or both, so 256*512 is as good as it gets for now. Purgator, mind having a look? It's one of the doors on St Vitus cathedral, and I used Google Image Search (can't really think of what else, tbh. I'm borderline computer illiterate, as strange as that may sound coming from a digital texture artist).
Doorwy2 is under construction, btw.

Cool find, Necrobob! I haven't even ventured to look for object textures tbh, I've been concentrating on TDP terrain mostly.
I'll keep a weather eye out all the same.
It is frustrating when you can't find a decent image for a particular texture, they're usually watermarked, lo-res or just plain awkward looking.

Well, I'll be damned. Perfect! :thumb:
Except... there is quite a lot of noticeable seams and banding at this resolution.
