Skynet, I've finished the game, but for my personal future reference would you--or anyone else--please tell me how to enable V-synch?:p
Skynet, and anyone else reading this, you can disregard my question regarding how to enable V-sync. I can now answer it myself.
When I first got stuck in Gamall's secret library, I searched this message board for hits on "climbing gloves." I found Skynet's earlier message about enabling V-sync, and I tried to do that but I could not. Now I think I understand why I could not.
I use two GeForce 6800 Ultras in SLI, and while I played TDS, I had an old set of v.77.77 drivers. They seem to have been the source of my trouble. (Apparently those drivers had no option to enable V-sync. If they did, I didn't find it.)
I have just downloaded and installed new GeForce v.81.98 drivers (NVidia calls it "Forceware"). Now I can easily go to Display Properties, Settings, Advanced, and click the GeForce tab. A submenu opens to the left, and one of its entries is "Performance & Quality Settings." When I click that entry, a window is opened on the main Display Properties card, and there's a listing for "Vertical Sync." If I highlight "Vertical Sync" and then unclick the little "Application Controlled" box below, I can move a slider over from the off position to the on position, thereby enabling V-sync.
This might help anyone else who has an SLI rig and runs into climbing troubles.:p
