No, I think they're saying that you can accomplish all of the objectives, and the you have the choice of staying in the mission to continue to creep around collecting and exploring.
Many of the T1/2 missions have a final objective where you have to "get back to the streets" kinda situation, where it mimics this behavior, but there are a few missions that don't have that.

exactly! in that sense there is (nearly) no difference between T1/2 and T3. only that T3 is the more user friendly variety.

Just finish the level for now. And then after the game is done, go back in that level and accomplish a 100%-er

Are you saying it's a good thing that TDS forces you to physically walk back to the exit of every single mission?
Huh? Are you saying that Thief 1 and 2 missions don't? Are you running out of things to pick on people for?
You missed my point, which was simply - choice is a good thing.

I didn't say anything. I ASKED.
Anyway, the thing with TDS is that it
always throws up that R U SURE? at map transition points. Nothing special with regards to objectives there. This would have been irrelevant to the Blackmail mission, because the end trigger is on exiting Truart's mansion, not returning to your start point.

Nope. Either way you'd have to replay it.

I've not opened Dromed in months but could he not deactivate whichever trigger checks the last objective as complete, go grab his loot, save and then reactivate the objective?
Lengthy process even if it would work, which I'm not sure about in the first place.
Random_Taffer on 3/5/2006 at 01:46
I don't think so. You could of course edit the level in DromEd but you can't load a save game into DromEd. So either way the mission would need to be done over. Also, I don't think you can continue on to the next levels through DromEd....So I do think the best thing to do would be to just start over. :p

if understand that correctly that would just delete all loot. where would i have to enter this? in dromed? or can i use those commands as some kind of cheatcodes INSIDE the game? and would not the loot just disappear instead of being added to my inventory? thanks!

Ah yes, I forgot you actualy haven't played it yet.
Well, basically, when you enter an "exit zone", same as the T2 ones, the kind that is tied to an objective that says "once you have all your stuff, exit through the front gate", well, T3 does one better than T2 by asking your permission if you actually want to end the mission, not whisk you away in the assumption that you do, like T2 does.
Which is the problem in Blackmail because rhoelzl wanted to explore the level more, and its not just a l33t thing either - it's quite reasonable to want more cash to spend at the shop.
