I'm replaying this T1 mission on Expert. Unfortunately, I have a problem. I've waded through the whole mission and got to the gate. Then I suddenly noticed the "find out about the plans" objective is not registering. No biggie, I went all the way back and read the book. But nothing changed, the objective still doesn't register for some reason, even if I repeatedly reread the book ! :( What now ? I hope I won't have to replay the entire mission again. :(

There's more than one book to read - are you sure you read the correct one?

Should I check the other treehouse as well ? I could have sworn I didn't see any book in that one. However, the one book I did find and read didn't talk about "The Dark Project", the text only had Trickstantine waxing lyrical about how he'll have his revenge on the progress of humanity and bring back the night. So I suppose I was just reading the incorrect book and should look for a second one ? It's been long since I've last played this mission and I've never played it on Expert before.

Might want to check a walkthrough on youtube, but I believe the correct book is close to a chair. If you don't see the chair, you're probably in the wrong spot.

The book is to the left of a chair and in plain sight. Smack dab next to a chair. I've searched the other treehouse and even the inaccessible room built into that rock ledge near the start fo the level. No books or parchments there. I've searched virtually the entire mansion (what's left of it) and I didn't find anything resembling tomes or writings. What is going on ?
The only book I've been able to find starts with the sentence The world as I once knew was a place of magic.

Been a while since I've played Escape - the book you want is the one detailing the ritual that Constantine performs in the last mission, I think the one you're reading talks about The Dark Project, and is not the book you want for the objective. I may have the chair thing wrong, like I said, it's been a while.

OK, I eventually figured it out already a few hours ago, I'm now very near the end of the Strange Bedfellows mission. I've killed all the bugbeasts, brought back the priest to the window by the underground lake and I have the chisel with me. But, yet again, the game doesn't register victory conditions at all. I've ran back and forth and hacked all 4 bugbeasts to death, followed by blowing them up with mines and fire arrows for good measure. They're all very definitely dead. Yet the objectives still don't tick off and I don't get a victory screen when I come with the priest and the chisel to the window at the lake. What's going on again ? :(

T1 or TG, TFix or no TFix?

OK, first it shouldn't be "yet again" because you said you figured everything out last time, so there's nothing wrong with your victory conditions. Which specific objectives are not ticking off? You said you thoroughly destroyed all the bugbeasts, but is that objective ticking off or not? If not, I say you probably missed one somewhere. Other than that, is the chisel objective ticked off? Sounds like you're at the end in the spot with the priest, but it would be helpful to know what objectives aren't working.
Edit: I checked out a walkthrough, there are actually 6 bug beasts in the level.
