Don't get too excited...

Relatively few of the console commands work in Thief, though - they're mostly for use in Dromed (or only work in Dromed).

I tried those buttons and nothing's happening:(
Try Ctrl+P
I thought that was the keybind to do a screenshot, and it brought up the console.

So, what CAN you do with the console? Kill things? Remove objects? Add items to your inventory? Dare I ask...
NoClip?:sly:

None of the above :p
There are two things you can do to find out what commands work:
From the controls option screen, save the binds, then go to the Saves folder and open the most recent cfgNumbers.bnd (not all of the commands will work though).
You can also type, in the console, dump_cmds something.txt The file goes in Thief2\
Again, not all of the commands will work.

No, that doesn't work either. I tried during gameplay and then even at different parts of the menu. Thanks though!

Could it be that your keys aren't mapped properly? E.g. I've used computers where pressing " creates @, and vice versa.
Can you generate : in other programs?

Dangit, I was hoping that the console would be something like the Half-Life console where you could activate cheats and the like. Admit it, you've wanted to fly around too!
lizardfuel55 on 17/11/2007 at 03:38
Yeah, like Quake =P

You can fly around Thief, but only in Dromed.
