Captioned TDP videos on Google Video

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have a question: on Google Video, somebody has posted entertainingly-captioned videos of themself playing through TDP, up to mission 7. The posts were uploaded between October and this January anonymously, there aren't any useful comments on them, and in one he/she mentions a forum, but not which or where (I haven't watched 6 or 7 yet). A search of this forum didn't give any hits for google+video. They've obviously been posted for an audience, but I've no idea who, or by whom.

So my question is, does anybody have any information about these videos? They're worth watching—more of a tour of TDP than walk-throughs, informative and funny—and I'm interested in knowing what the story is behind them.

Wow, all this time I had no idea the security "cameras" in Cragscleft could be taken out with arrows. You learn something new every day...

Hey ho.

Those videos are from the Something awful forums. A guy called Mckain did a video and screenshot "Lets play" of Thief. Very cool if you are a fan of the series. Unfortunately he never finished the walkthrough and abandoned it in the end citing that doing a double play through of each level (once with the video, once with the screenshots) as well as the general idea of doing a Lets Play was tiring too him.

Still, really cool stuff if you are a fan of the Thief series. I'd like you up with the screenshots and the original thread but they are archived so you wouldn't be able to view them without an account.

So... Copy them. Make them a ZIP or PDF and send copies when you get a PM requesting "them". Obviously you have an account. So it would be a snap for you. :ebil:

The thing is, whenever anyone makes videos of thief it's either a kill everyone kind of thing or a blackjack everyone kind of thing. Makes it a bit boring and tedious, doesn't feel much like thief to me that way :(

Well, the problem with making a ghosting video instead of a killing/BJ video is that it would surely take a lot more time to watch. And while it´s fun and exciting to wait one entire minute looking at a guard patrol, it isn´t as much fun to watch someone else taking one minute looking at a guard patrol.

I know, and I didn't mean an entire ghosting video, but there seems no attempt in any of the videos i've seen to sneak around ANY of the guards - they are all koed or killed. :erg: And to be honest i don't think it would be so boring if done in the right way. The waiting times when ghosting are highly exaggerated.

I really think these should be collected, too.
