I recently replayed casing and masks and enjoyed baiting the ghost and getting him to come outside and play. Rather difficult in casing as you can't be seen by the guards. In Mask, it seems like I couldn't get the ghost to go up to the 3rd floor. He did an okay job on the 2nd, but if you leave the ghost for too long with nothing to attack, he disappears, though you can hear his moaning. Anyone else had luck with setting up the 'ghost trap'?

Recently I was replaying Masks and encountered a bug. We I went into the library the female ghost was there as usual, but I noticed that the male ghost is nowhere to be found:eek: . This is not a real problem except I wanted to experiment with having the ghost knock off some guards for me. Anyone had this problem? Also, I noticed later the female ghost doesn't talk now, only when I first came in. (I suppose I should try reloading from an earlier save.) Has anyone had these 'problems'?

Please don't start multiple new threads about a mission just to ask another question. This should have been added to the other thread you started.

Agree, gaijinalways, maybe you're not familiar with the usual rules. You can post a thread containing all your questions. Someone will answer them all as long as you can list them clearly. ^_^
Regarding your question, you mentioned that the male ghost disappeared. Did you read all the five readable books in the library? If yes, then that's normal if my memory is correct.

No, I didn't, I haven't read any of the books. The female ghost is still there, though she later becomes mute. And I'm sorry, didn't realize you guys were that strict:eek: , though I have seen more than a few violations of that:cheeky: . But hey, live and let live:) .

I see, then I will try to make it this way:
The five readable books are located near to where the female ghost appears. It gives you information about the relationship between she and that male ghost patrolling around the library. If you have read all five of them, the male ghost will disppear.
If you do that in Casing the Joint, then the male ghost will not appear in Masks, but I am not sure whether he will disappear immediately if you do that in Masks. Those two guys' bodies are in the library, hidden behind a shelf on the wall.
You can look for more information on Thief-the-Circle. Do you know this website? Look for its walkthrough.

I never managed to get the ghost to chase me outside and wreak havoc in the mansion; he never even got one measly guard... the ghost just losses interest (or whatever) and goes back to the library (or disappears altogether)
...and I so wanted a nice gang war...

Sorry for the double post.
Seems it was a bug, after a reload to an earlier juncture, your truly was there with his working lover.
I have managed to get the ghost to kill 3-4 guards, but it often difficult to avoid taking damage yourself as you lead the ghost around. Also the ghost generally only stays on the 2nd floor, though one time I did get him to go downstairs.
Strangely enough, some of the guards will get whacked by the ghost, but as soon as the guard spots you, he'll run to engage you:erg: ! So you might end up fighting the guard as the ghost takes pot shots at both of you:laff: .

Also, of course, the ghost will take down the cannons and alarm faces for you as well. As to getting rid of the ghost, yes, I know where the books are in the library, plenty of guides bookmarked for that:bored: . Playing with the ghost is more fun:thumb: .
