'cat vs. mouse - by pavlovscat

I have never used my mouse while playing T1 or T2. I only use keyboard commands. Are there any other anti-mouse players, or am I the only one?

I do use a mouse, but now I'm thinking about trying a steering wheel with pedals...

Must you live up to your name here? ;)

How the hell do you play a shooter without a mouse?

Back in the day...before there were mice...there were these things called cursor keys. :cheeky:
Seriously, I use the number pad for directional keys with my right hand. My left hand does shooting (ctrl), selecting (alt) and other weapons/items functions with various other keys.

If it works, it works. I find I get more control using the mouse. I use the left hand for the standard keys we all use for walk, lean etc. T key for leaning forward.

Oh yes pavlovscat - I remember those days but it was also the days of Word Perfect and I could do so much more then than I can do now. I mean, macros were such a doddle, I wouldn't have a clue now. I did everything with keys, mice didn't exist. And using keystrokes is just so much quicker than using a mouse. But, nowadays I use a combination of the two.
Mind you, I also remember manual typewriters. :D

Z = lean fwd, ctr = fire, alt = use
My number pad is configured like this:
open - run fwd - compass = nl-/-*
lean left - walk fwd - lean right = 7-8-9
turn left - creep fwd - turn right = 4-5-6
strafe left - walk back - strafe right = 1-2-3
keypad enter = crouch toggle
page up = look up
page down = look down
I guess that's just how I'm used to playing. Using the mouse for TDS was very disorienting for me. I've played other new games, so I've gotten used to it. But, I'm better with the keys. I guess it's a throwback to MS-DOS & DR-DOS days when keyboard shortcuts were THE way to do anything.

Doom and wolf3d where excellent for playing with keys only. :D
Why don't use the mouse in Thief when you got one?
