I have overestimated my abilities choosing difficulty level. Now I am midgame. Is it still possible to somehow hack my savegame to make it easier to play?

I highly doubt it.

Nope. In Thief, yes. In Deus Ex, no.
However, you could consider cheating to level the playing field. <img src=http://www.ttlg.com/s/devil.gif>

You can in NOLF but not in Deus Ex.

Probably. The code is quite accessible in developer mode so you might be able to change a flag or something. Its not doable from menus but if i get time I'll have a shufty and see if it can be done.

Got it. You'll need to enable cheat mode before you can do this, you can probably find out how at a DX site (sorry cant remember off the top of my head).
Then press your talk key to access the console, delete the 'say' that will be there and type: engine.gameinfo difficulty=n, where n is a number between 0 and 3. 0=easy 1=medium 2=hard 3=veryhard.
That seems to work for me, try it out.

You might also need to start the game with the -hax0r switch. Make a shortcut to deusex.exe, go to its properties and add -hax0r after where it says deusex.exe. (thats a zero in hax0r, not an O)
