Thanx for the info. Btw, is that only possible in the patched version ?

Nah, silly though it is, he lives if you leave via the front door (or "die" in the 'Ton) instead of thru the window. I suppose the rationale is that you helped him defeat the "bad guys", but you could just as easily run into the elevator shaft and plummet to your death... and he'll still be alive.

Yeah, now I know... it's just that exiting through the front door to the streets filled with UNATCO troops really seems like a BAD idea... (I still think it is). Oh yeah, and I did finish the game 3 times btw...

We did look in to this and you can read it here.
Running into streets filled with UNATCO isn't really going to make much of a differece. There's only two good things that might come from staying alive in the 'Ton.
1. Getting ammo from the dead bodies. If you're really strapped for bullets, I guess you might need to stick around and help Paul.
2. This is where you want to finish Anna. Personally, this makes no point to me as you can kill her just as soon as you get out of the MJ12 Facility. You can even do it with the killphrase and save yourself some ammo and health.

I tell you a cool, novel and shocking twist that will never even be considered: the future of Deus Ex is already known to us! Say you chose the Tong ending (i.e. wipe out global comms, that was the Tong ending wasn't it?) and a few hundred years ago, the world has descended into..., get this... the Thief world! Thief is the sequel to Deus Ex.
No! Please! I don't wanna go back! The drugs! The drugs!
Ahem.
