Okay one more time:
I will still be stealthy and hiding in corners and trying to avoid detection etc but having completed all the Thief games without cheats before, I want to do it *WITH* cheats this time. I did for Thief 2 and found it enjoyable as I could put out torches and sneak easier without worrying about running out of water arrows, and could easily fight or run away if Im creeping around somewhere and a Hammerite decides to smash me over the head with his hammer from behind. ie, I can continue/fight/run without having to re-load another saved game.
As it stands though, Im on "Return to the Cathedral" at the moment with no cheats as no one has been able to help, simply criticise.
And yes, its fun, but some of us dont care about "the skill of economy" or whatever it was said earlier, nor having to conserve arrows, I just wanted to play it in a different way than I usually would.

TR, play as you want to. It can be interesting to explore new areas, try farther jumps to find hidden spots on maps and not have to worry about hurting yourself if you fall.. Or if you want to try to fight a guard with his sword vs only your blackjack (funny to do). Maybe you want to race a zombie and lead them all out to the same place and try running them around in circles. Just do what ever you want and dont let the overly self-righteous tell you how to play YOUR game, so long as it's only affecting your game. I know in Thief 2, I used the infinite weaps trainer to practice my long range arrow aiming and inf health potions see how fast I could beat the game, but some people can't think outside the box.. they must conform... communist yunics, the lot of them. :P

I just wish I had an incincibility/unlimited items cheat to play it as I wish, but I dont, so I guess Im playing it the normal mainstream way.

Why haven't you gotten hold of the Thief Save Editor? It will give you unlimited (well like over a million) items as long as you have a few to start with in your inventory. If it's not avaliable for DL anywhere shoot me a PM with your e-mail addy and I'll send it to you. The file is only like 1/2MB. Or order a set of DVD's from Komag as I'm sure that utility is part of his package o' thiefy goodness.
