I have been trying new (to me) games and came accross a real gem. I just wanted to share that there is a star wars galaxies emu server (called tarkin) going that is FREE! If you, like me, love futuristic mmo games like anarchy online or SWTOR give it a look. Its a smallish, but very good community going on. It is growing and is run by people with great vision and a big emphasis on removing unrewarding grind and bringing community to the forefront (player cities inside of the main cities, you can have a house in mos eisely or corronet). I am still new there myself, in fact this is my first go at SWG. But let me tell you, this is a rare and beautiful thing happening. Intelligent people making a game the way they want, fun, low grind, and free. And no marketing strategy to get in the way. Its called swgcanon and you can check it out here: swgcanon.com
this is the game Sony made, but run by players.
In this server custom rules are used for decay and much more. One big difference is there are no Jedi.
If you have interest read this forum discussion (read it all to see what i mean, Kinshi runs the server) about swgcanon and its economy. It convinced me that the people doing this are top tir, and this vision is magnificent. (
