Choice of four. Picking one. - by Digital Nightfall

Well, as long as I don't see people accusing people who liked Fallout 3 of being shills for Bethesda, and as long as I don't see (
http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49758) 4 pages worth of people arguing over what a Fallout 1 dev meant when he said he liked Fallout 3 then I'll know TTLG hasn't turned into an NMA outpost yet.

It must have broken their poor little hearts. The tards.

Edit: Also, the soundtrack in FO1 is cheesy as hell.
Now
that is fighting words.

I dunno man, I respect everyone's right to their personal taste, I just find it distracting when I'm in a vault fighting robots and I keep hearing that delayed flute sound that came straight from an AWE32.
That NMA thread about Jason Anderson is priceless. I thought the Bioshock forum was bad. :D

I think the standard responses to anyone ragging on NMA for being anal retentive ahumourous self important cave dwellers is to post some links referring to 'loot glint', 'robots in Thief 2' 'help I found the zombies in T1 too hard' 'rebirth boobies warped my delicate mind' 'why didn't Atlas tell you his entire plan from the outset' 'ken levine is a douche' 'someone wants to alter respawn and/ or weapon degradation in Shock2- to the pitchforks' 'OMG DX3 sounds like Gears of War' etc etc because that level of insularity, lack of self reflection and narcissism is pretty much a function of any fan community. Especially if you cherry pick the examples.
I'd actually agree that the dialogue in F1 is not much better than that in F3, though it is far more consistent, quality wise, and lacks obvious clangers.

...and then there's the close-minded, stubborn individuals who hate Steam for equally inane reasons.

Possibly the only one I'm guilty of is the Ken Levine one. I can't watch his interviews now without becoming very angry.
Bjossi on 23/4/2009 at 02:03
To be fair, K-Lev did lie to us who were waiting for Bioshock. A lot.

Ha ha.
I think my objections to Steam
Works pretty much mirror your objections to SecuROM, so we can bask together in the warm and comforting glow of our mutual inanity.
Steam itself I couldn't care less about. I personally prefer Gamersgate but if others prefer to use Steam that's fine by me.

Yeah, giving publishers the option of limited net activations AND the option of a CD check on top that. oh yeah and supplying a revoke tool is entirely up to the publisher's discretion.
Versus SteamWork's mandatory unlimited activations, and games are entirely portable as long as you have your account information and a net connection.
The "Oh, I'll just use a crack" argument becomes a difficult one to maintain when it comes to game patches, too many odds that you have to bet against in those scenarios.
Let's ignore all of the other features of SteamWorks like server browsing, P2P matchmaking infrastructure, automatic roll-out of patches (of which the consumer can opt out of), a really successful Anti-Cheat solution (VAC), achievement support, player stat-tracking for e-peen measuring. DX overlay w/ contact's lists, text and speech IM'ing/conferencing support, a minimal web browser, etc.
Yeah, I'll go with the internet activation DRM solution that doesn't give publishers the opportunity to anally rape their customers, thanks.
