For 2009, Dragon Age was the last game that I really wanted. I've had Borderlands since before release, but haven't been able to activate my Steam copy since my NIC died. :mad: L4D2 is bought and paid for as well.

Still a lot of games, that I need to finish, namely Batman: AA and Red Faction Guerrilla, but my video card kept over-heating whilst playing those, so maybe the heatsink/cooler has damaged. I'm sent my whole PC to the shop to be fixed, the video card (Geforce GTX275) should at the very least still be under warranty, since I only bought it like in June.

I've had new copies of Demon's Souls and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 sitting around unplayed, since my PS3 stopped reading discs.

I might pick up Torchlight since it's cheap and the scrotums at Blizzard wouldn't be seeing a dime of it.

Ditto for Machinarium. I liked Samorost, loved Samorost 2 and absolutely adore Machinarium. I purchased it last week and am still playing through it.

I probably wont be in a rush to pick up any new games over the Christmas period as I have recently purchased Dragon Age and Batman AA, despite knowing that I wont have much spare time to actually play them for some time.

Are you kidding dethtoll? There are way too many, I forget them all.

New games: L4D2, Assassins Creed 2, Borderlands, Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma, Modern Warfare 2, God of War 1,2 and 3, Batman AA, Max Payne 3, Alan Wake, Rage, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 (and 1!), possibly Dragon Age. There's more but I can't remember them right now.

And I'll be looking to lots of games I missed 1st time around. There are some old classics I want to get my hands on. MGS1, Silent Hill 1, Planscape, others.

Questions is - will I have time for all this? Unlikely.

Early Christmas is looking like some AssCreed II and Brutal Legend and R&C: A Crack in Time (aka Clockblockers, a brilliant name they should have gone with, censorship and demographics be damned), and maybe MW2 if it's at a bargain price and I can rouse enough emotion towards giving a fuck about it.

For 2010, what I really, deeply care about right now is Mafia 2, and whether it gets a decent fucking PS3 port or not.

Otherwise, lean expectations abound for the moment. Heavy Rain and God of War III are looking good, but we'll see when we get to their respective release days.

I'll probably also have a whole raft of PC releases which I need to catch up with from this year. The Void and Call of Pripyat look especially tasty. Bioshock 2 and ME 2 are maybes. Alpha Protocol is a question mark for 2010, I'm going to wait and see how polished it turns out to be after this delay before making a decision on it.

Alan Wake, Max Payne 3 :nono: God, they are fucking those games up, from the looks of it. That L.A. Noire looks interesting, and I am keeping an eye on it, but not on the edge of my seat.

I am through with hype. The industry has changed for the worse this generation. To me, the games just are not living up to my (and most of my peers') expectations. And no, not the same old story of hype failure. The industry seems to be surpassing itself with letdown after letdown. That said, I am extremely wary of any new titles and tend to let other, trusted sources try them out and report back, whereas 3 years ago... I was that source. Sad, but true. I have just been burned too many times this gen to keep getting ripped off. After all, as the A.A. folks say: "the definition of insanity is repeating an action and expecting a different result"...
