Assassin's Creed 2
Bioshock 2
Borderlands
Mass Effect 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Thi4f(although don't know if it's even going to come out next year)
The Old Republic MMO(no fees and I'm happy)
Mechwarrior 4015
Deus Ex 3
Some of those are already out and I just haven't got them yet and some are yet to be released.

If I have it on good authority that they've done something about the Assassin's Creed gameplay, then I might trade in my copy of the first one for the second.
(
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/assassins-creed-ii-console-review) Eurogamer have reviewed it very well, (aside from the terrible opening) saying that the gameplay is much improved over the first one.
I was waiting for the review to come out before deciding if I was going to pick it up, and now I am.

To chime in with David, as well as reviews (which I don't really trust as Ubi are prone to buying / blackmailing good reviews), early user reports are promising. I've seen a report from one guy I trust on another forum who says they've really listened to the criticisms of the first game and have seemingly addressed them all.

There's no way Thief 4 is coming out in 2010 - last I hear it was still in pre-production.
The likelyhood of Bioware passing up on the massive cash cow (and, to a degree, necessary infrastructure maintenance costs) of a subscription is nil. Zero. Nada. I don't know where this idea of a Guild Wars style MMO came from but it's simply not going to happen. Certainly not with EA as the masters!
As for Mechwarrior (dunno where this "4015" is coming from - if it got that subtitle I missed it), early pre-production + more Harmony Gold legal troubles = not finished anytime soon.
Edit: Wikipedia sez Mechwarrior has been in development since 2005 (!). Not sure if I believe that, but if so I take back the pre-production thing.

True, but that one is by Tom Bramwell, who has a good reputation for being above such things. Even the RAM Raider likes Bramwell.

Well you're probably right, the way they've been floggin the DA DLC is a sign of that.
As for Mechwarrior, it has a gameplay trailer so it shouldn't be too far away from release.

Even the RAM Raider
Who?
EDIT: Google brings up the blog of an Angry Internet Man and a reference to that rubbish "comedy" The Mighty Boosch. Is he buddies with the RPS crew or/and an alumni of UK PC gaming mags?
Matthew on 18/11/2009 at 12:56
No-one's entirely sure, as he's done a decent job of keeping his real name under wraps. He's certainly an (ex-)UK gaming journo, and usually fairly quick to call someone out if he feels they've bowed to pressure or behaved underhandedly.

I'm guessing you didn't play as the female character? That translation is completely butchered but yeah, the others are good enough and like you say, the occasional warped metaphor or grammatically odd sentence actually enhances the atmosphere.
I'm on Day 6 of Klara's scenario, taking a bit of a break from it. Often the translation is quite good. Plus it's the best scenario. Her relationships with the townspeople are... peculiar. Never has a game freaked me out so much.
e.g.
You often drop in here... A dangerous place for a girl with naked knees, firstly. Secondly it's too tempting for the saint. And at last it's damn suitable for Madam Plague! It is stuffed with too many people. Ha-ha-ha... What do you want?Is that bad? Maybe I've gotten too used to it.

I'm playing CallOfPripyat right now and it is glorious, it can't take the no1 spot therefore my most anticipated games are in order of importance (drumroll):
- Mafia2 (surprise)
- Natural Selection 2
- Brink
- Metro 2033
- Lost Alpha (STALKER mod)
- L4d3 (haha)
