Indeed. It's the same politics all over Europe. Worker's rights are levelled in every country, using competitiveness as an argument.
You'd think with the EU we have a market that's large enough so EU politicians could say: Let's write down some standards now. For job contracts, working conditions, minimum wage, worker's rights. And any company who don't like it can get the fuck out of this market. Try NOT to deal with us!
Instead it's: Owww, another EU country is in debts, please don't hurt us! Here, take a few more billions, trillions, whatever you want! And don't worry about those pesky Greeks, Spaniards, Portuguese. We'll beat them down. And we'll play out the other countries against them. Fear will keep the local systems in line.
