So I started to play Jerich. Or at least wanted to, but i get stuck right at the first sequence. :nono: :wot:
You start in this tunnel, where the group talks a bit and the the ground starts shaking and you run away. There are flashing arrows so I assumed that I have to press the appropriate direction buttons, however I don't get far with this and I have absolutely no clue how to get over it. My character falls into a pit and then he grabs some ledges. Then comes right arrow, left arrow and he climbs a few ledges and that's it. No matter what I try he always falls down after that. There is also no indication of another arrow or so.
Is there some special trick to get over this? Not to mention that I hate gameplay like this, but I would like to play the game a bit further then only the first 15 seconds.

usually those dequences repeat themselves. try doing the left right left right thing in rhythm even after the first pair. also i understand that even if you rebind your movement keys, the quick time events are hard coded to use WASD even if you've changed it... so maybe that is your issue?

Doh! If that's really the case, then this game is sure to get wiped.

Wow! So your tip was really helpfull, because it indeed ignores all the keyboard configurations and just switches to the hardcoded control scheme. What a great game design.
Oh, well, I'm no using GlovePIE to reprogram all the keys as I want them and this works now.
Really! Why do they bother to implement a fake configuration screen where you get the illusion that you can change the controls?

Yeah.. I had a lot of fun with the game up until the end of the 2nd ... era.. thingy.
I think it had a ton going for it, personally I love how it controls and the combat is top notch. But when you're playing the same 2 minutes over and over again with no variety in enemies it really gets boring fast.
I did actually beat it though. But seriously.. the raw combat is the only thing going for it. That and the atmosphere up until you walk through the 2nd portal.

Serves you right for using a keybinding scheme that was outmoded over a decade ago.
